I noticed that the Gavril Vertex started in Automation (to my knowledge), but then later transformed to jbeam. (I think I am using the correct lingo when I say this. At least I hope.) I like many others want to make a mod for people to use but I actually took a realistic perspective from starting this. I understand that it is very, very difficult and so I looked for alternative routes that involve Automation, or some other things like that. I wanted to know if the creator of the Vertex dodged a lot of the initial modeling, by using Automation. This left me with two questions: If the creator converted his Automation vehicle into a jbeam one, how did he do that? Would you say this is a good way to go about things while minimizing the required amount of time that I have to spend on my mod? Thanks everyone!!
Every beamng vehicles have a jbeam, including automation ones, but the jbeam on automation mods is not very great, and the car is made of one part, so there is no doors that separate, etc. I don't really know but i think it made the modelling process faster, although there were a lot of things to add like the interior.
I think pretty much the only things that you can "dodge" like this are the 3D model (which is getting remodelled anyway) and the engine specs (which I'm not sure if the mod uses the Automation ones or custom). But the Automation models are bad for BeamNG overall and a lot of that had to be changed. It's probably easier to make a mod the normal way than like that, but idk, I have never modelled a car myself.
