Honestly we need something REALLY OLD. Never have I seen a game with a car from before the 1930s or 40s without being a background car, a cutscene car or on a bloody picture. It would be phenomenal if we got one of those stiff-suspensioned old trucks like a GAZ AA or a 1946 GMC EF.
I'll also add the Praga RN/RND, you have two engine versions, one with a six-cylinder petrol engine capable of exceeding 50 mph and the other is a Diesel four-cylinder that struggles to maintain 35 mph. and there are so many versions! Just a thought, but an older passenger minivan would be nice. We have a cargo van and passenger SUV but no passenger minivan. Something like a pontiac trans sport would be cool, but whatever the team wants would be fine as well.
there's already a saturation of late 80s vehicles in the game, and an AstroVan style version of the H series would fill the "90s US minivan" niche well enough. I'd alternatively propose something European and 90s-2000s, something like this Opel Zafira. perhaps some sort of cherrier?
What about something really old like the 30s Škoda Favorit or Mercedes-Benz 170 V both have a 38 HP engine of around 1700-1800 cc and both would make for a good car to modify. And both of then have the same style of chassis and suspension! A backbone frame with swing axle in the back and a leaf spring double wishbone in the front just differently executed.
Totally agree with this. BeamNG could be a great "icebreaker" of a sort for more games to implement pre 50s cars. You rarely see them and when you do they have terrible unrealistic physics because they're only in ancient games or games where driving is not the main aspect. I'd love a car that doesn't have the ability to go 70+ mph stock. Chevy Master is a good starting place. 4 door, 2 door, lots of "hot rod" customisation could be implemented, inline 6 engine, inline 8 even, v8s and all that. Very 1930s car and would go well in the game

I think to summarise all of the "volume car" in one, i'd go with something slightly earlier, like a ford model A or B, not just because it makes for a more typical hot rod, but also because chassis and body designs were still really modular; a sedan, coupe, and pickup shared nearly all body panels, and with just another chassis (like the D/H45) you basically get a medium/heady duty truck. Another demographic that would be interesting to explore from that era is the luxury car. super advanced technology for the time, an engine so enormous it can keep up with a 230s vivace in a straight line, and it really opens up the possibilities for mods. cars like these were often shipped to coachbuilders to have completely unique bodies put on them, imagine the MfD competition that would ensue.
Late 20s and early 30s really were the era of experimentation. Whilst Britain stuck with their solid axles rear and front, same with ford and its transverse leaf springs, rest of America was eyeing independent front suspension and keeping a solid rear axle whilst France and Central Europe had a race in who can build better, cheaper and simpler independent suspension for front and rear. And the diversity in what you could do with a car was truly unbelievable. Few pics just for show: 1931 Tatra 80, V12 all wheel independent suspension and backbone chassis 1932 Tatra 57, the same in small version with an air cooled four-cylinder boxer. 1933 Škoda 420, basically the same as Tatra just a bit more conventional. Li Like the Auriga Heron did. Bentley 8 liter is agreat idea honestly. I wish someone could properly revive and fix up the Heron. It was a little bit jiggly but its system of non synchromesh was genius. You're right, an earlier car which shares a frame, and things were modular. For future reference and less confusion the way I'd describe "really modular" cars is maybe with some pictures For example how the Model T has literally the exact same front (1920s model) as the Touring (And the step area) With the bench seat also most likely being the same. And honestly it shouldn't be too hard to gather data for this car, there is bound to be some sort of classic car club who is willing to have BeamNG's people examine their handling, suspension stiffness and things like that. --- Post updated --- In short, I REALLY think that BeamNG should eventually incorporate an old vehicle, pre 40's.
