As seen at the title, I would love to see a few changes and mainly inprovements. Here is a list with a few things i would like to see implemented and improved in the game. Short reminder: some things are already on other Threads, however i do want to mention them; Cars; This means more cars and customization if plausible, but mainly this: i would love to see more realistic engine failures (mainly engine stalling when the car is far to damaged, and stalling when stuck and the engine needs to give far to much torque) and sounds, improved ABS systems (mainly for keyboard interface) more different cars like European and more American, better handling when in "Arcade mode". And also if plausible engine starting and stopping, Horns, Sirens for police cars and more customization with police cars. (Maybe even Ambulances and Fire trucks to give it all a little bit more of an simulator feel.) Worlds; More worlds and mainly more support with custom worlds and the download of them. UI (User Interface) Better User Interface and with that i mean mainly the ability to change the controls to whatever we want; for example to buttons and axis from Steering wheels, Joysticks, Controllers, and Mouse and Keyboard. And i would love to see better and improved menu's and shortcuts to menu's for for example the menu from changing cars and changing parts. I want to mention that i use a Logitech Driving Force GT witch i would love to have support from with this game. Some details are that it goes 900º around and it has Force Feedback like a few others on the market. I will try to add some pictures Video settings A little more support for lower end computers, maybe it is an idea to make a rendering distance so that not the entire world has to load at once, and that could maybe improve the plausibility to get bigger maps in the near future! P.S. Keep the good work up, and good luck with future updates! Greetings and support from the Netherlands! Computer: MEDION AKOYA E6227; Running Operating System: Windows 8.1, Intel Core i3-3110M Quadcore Processor rated on 2.40 GigaHertz 8Gigabytes RAM memory 64 Bits OS and x64 Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 and as seen on the picture, connected 1920x1080p 60Hz 3D screen...
The reason for your poor framerate isn't completely graphics related. BeamNG is highly CPU intensive, and your 3110m is a low end CPU - put two and two together. Furthermore, Intel Integrated is a weak graphics solution designed primarily for general computing, video playback, and very light gaming. You should find a slight FPS improvement if you run BeamNG on the 1366x768 laptop monitor, or scale the game window to a smaller size; this gives your system the chance to run the game at the highest framerate it's capable of. Most of the things you've mentioned are planned or are in progress, save for the Arcade handling.
As you might have seen, this thread is only for idea's for BeamNG, with messing with the video settings, you can get beamng to work fine enaugh, but trust me there are much more people out there wanting to play this game with much lower end gaming setups. Infact, i don't really have much trouble running games, only a bit when i am recording. Only BeamNG compared to many other games [including simulators] have much better framerates... i am mentioning this for all the people out there that want to play this game... anyways, after mentioning that still thanks for telling me ;D
Hey you Big Dummy, Welcome to the Beamng world. It has potential out the wazoo, just like my other favorite driving game Fuel. Difference is, this one is still in alpha and open to modders. I think everything you mention will happen and more. Learn to mod and help create some good stuff.
Hello Mr. Email, If you probaply saw, this is for and from the list of idea's for BeamNG. And yes i know this is alpha, that is why there is an "Idea's and Suggestions" forum, where this thread is located.
I'm confused about this "arcade mode". I don't think the devs have ever stated that there will be one, it seems to not follow the spirit of the game. Anyway, BeamNG is based off of actual physics calculations, I don't think it's that easy to improve handling.
the majority of the things you've mentioned is planned (including the ability to start and stop engine at will) as for fps problems, the gpu usually isn't the main problem, the majority of the time it's your cpu, as beamng is VERY cpu intensive
More cars are already in the works, as well as a good number of modded vehicles. Look for Gabester's vehicle threads to see the progress, and/or check the Wiki. There are already huge numbers of modded maps, and more official maps in progress. The current GUI is subject to change, and even in its current state is perfectly serviceable. GUI based control customization is planned, however currently you can simply use a custom inputmap without much effort. Read the wiki articles on making your own inputmap, you should be easily able to get your wheel working with a few minutes of investment. Sorry to break it to you, but your PC just isn't powerful enough to game on. BeamNG.drive is a CPU and GPU intensive game, there's only so much you can change that by lowering graphics settings, and you're running a weak CPU with weak integrated graphics.
