I'm gonna say BeamNG is almost able to qualify for a virtual training on how to drive a manual. But the main thing that I'd say its missing is the animation of the gear stick moving and displaying on the dashboard your gear if it has this sort of feature for that car.
Animating a manual stick is a lot harder than an auto, as there’s infinite combinations between gear changes that you’d have to account for. Also whats the point if you literally never see it
but you do see it that's the thing, if you want to understand how it all works you would see it unless you choose personally not to
I don't doubt it at all, it will not be an easy task but if there is intrest, support and so on it can be done in time
Me two, if this could be achive we can say for defnitive BeamNG can help new drivers learn how to drive a manual car IRL because you'd have a complete system with visuals as well as mechanics. Maybe some realistic scenarios would help two. But once again, this is another "big" or "major" feature. for now I do enjoy what it can offer for this purpouse along with many other features.
I think that it would be far more immersive to have the clicking sound when you shift. For me it's part of the pleasure of driving a manual, I love the sharp "clac-clac" of Honda gearboxes. Moreover, I don't think it would be too hard to implement, we already have a lot of sounds in Beam for the parking brake, turn signal stalk, headlight switch...
I think having it at least to appear on the gear is enough for the start, with no clutch/neutral movements
