the 70 series is probably the best example of "if it works dont change it"

 

im going to make a new interior for the sunburst lol this is from a Subaru Forester so hopefully it goes well!

 

i'm gonna go off-topic for part of this post but I needed to say something
the statement of "if it works, don't change it" or "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is extremely double edged
although fixing something perfectly fine is unneeded, we should always go for major optimization if possible
even if you think you're fine, I think we should always strive for better
now for on topic

Actually, even being 12 years old, it is on the Top 10, best selling cars in Brazil every month.

Also, in the past:

1995 VW Gol

2013 VW Gol


Believe or not, from 2008 to 2013, 2 "Generations" of Gol were sold on the same showrooms, also, from 1987 to 2014, the Gol was THE best selling car on Brazil (27 consecutive years).

So yes, if you have a good enough platform, you can sell "the same car" for more than 10 years and it can have good sale numbers. There are other examples, like the cars using the Chrysler LX platform, that sell really well even being "the same" since 2008.

 

Maybe it would make more sense for it to be a 2015/2016/2017 sunburst facelift then? (the sunburst was in production through 2009 to 2014) idk.

VERY GOOD IDEA!! This is my favorite car. It would be good to create a new incarnation. I also propose to create Sunburst in other body versions, including 3 and 5 door Liftback, 2-door Coupe-Cabrio and 5-door station wagon (including the off-road version under the name SunTrack). I also have suggestions for the on-board computer displays. It would be best if there were such displays:

Basic (Based on the Mitsubishi Carisma display, but in a modern frame):


Medium (Based on Nissan Almera N16 display with automatic air conditioning):
