Gear Issue (G29)

Hi,

I've tried to look for a solution to this issue, but not seen one in the forums so far. I have a g29 gear stick and wheel.

I've found recently that it often selects the wrong gear in the game when I change gears. (i.e. if I shift from 5th to 3rd approaching a sharpish corner, and despite being in 3rd in the physical gear stick, the games just puts me in 4th). It also often just drops into neutral instead of going into gear. It seems to only happen at higher speeds, although I'm changing faster then. I've tried various setting changes, clutch assist etc. but wondered if anyone else had come across the issue? The above is just an example, it doesn't seem to be specific to one gear/change. I have tried remapping the gears too.

Make sure the transmission on your car is manual, and not dct or sequential. If it still happens, it could be faulty hardware.

 

Something is wrong on your side then because I've got the same wheel and have no problems.
Make a backup of all your settings and then delete them all, just a quick refresh for the game might do the trick. It's worth a shot

 

I have a TH8A and had the same problem. It's either a sequential transmission (G29 has paddle shifters, right? If you can shift w/out grinding gears w/ all assists off, then you're in a sequential) or it needs to be recalibrated (as was the case with me.) Logitech should have some software for that

 

Yeah, the G29 has paddle shifters but I only use that witha sequential transmission. Apart from that, I use the shifter and I have all assists turned off, I don't grind gears.
