Just an idea but having an equipable wheel that is a 'float' would be great, i was thinking of prehaps a way to attach the in-game barrel to the wheel hub to be used as a wheel, ive had a go at trying to figure out how to teach myself how to mod this but have drawn to a blank.
However i think it would be a fun idea

not bad. Maybe like paddle rear wheels and fin front wheels but they have an unrealistically high buoyancy amount

yes, had an idea just , rather than making a new wheel object, it'd be easier just to edit the 'bouyancy' value or whatever determines how much sometthing floats on a pre-existing wheel however i acnt find this value anywhere.

the larger the tires are the more it floats. the CRD monster truck tires float, and the massive 35-inch or whatever size tire also floats

hmmm but i think there must be some calculation or something that can be changed to edit the bouyancy e.g as you said, give a normal object an abnormaly high bouyancy

if you use 48 in 17x9 tires they will float

Any of yo tried using the CRD monster truck? It floats on default.

Nvm I see that ppl already talked about it lol.

The CRD monster truck floats but theirs really no point to is because it cant move, maybe someone can make tires or sum thin that can allow it to move in water even if its just a little bit.

Actually, their isn't. The only thing it is calculated off of is enclosed collision triangle volume displacement. So basically... the larger the enclosed volume, the more water it would displace, and the more buoyancy it would have. Thus why larger tires float better.

My point is it doesn't move and just floats so there really no point of floating cars if they cant move.

GTA's method of making vehicles floatable is not that hard either - they just add 2 barrels, 1 on each side of the car :)
It could be done via a mod slot similarly to mods that add a light bar on cars which don't have it by default.
Question is - will it work tho o_O

beamng has realistic physics, gta does not

The point is to be able to drive the vehicle on water, not just floating itself.

If you have played any GTA game before, you will know that the physics in that game are absolutely horrendous.

Yes but you have no time to think about the realism of the physics if you are having fun at that moment :)

you cant have fun if the physics wont work.

The only fun I can have in GTA is exploiting glitches like the swingset thing. The bad physics break the whole immersion of the games.

Well, you can actually add paddles to the tires in beam to make them propel you through water... I believe there was a mod with such tires before, but I don't remember what it was called... DH... something?
