This looks awfully high up for a LeGran, no? If it's some sort of Eagle-style car, would that mean it's on some sort of modified D-series frame?

I realize that it's probably just a lifted stock suspension system, but I think that it might be worth considering. I can't think of an example of transverse 4WD. It would be a lot of extra work to implement, but I feel that it is theoretically, but not realistically, possible that that is what we're looking at.

Before the pack of hyenas consumes this as canon, this is just me floating around an idea and not any sort of actual proof.

the legran already has a set of lifted springs for the existing suspension, so no, it'll likely be an 80's subaru-esque setup, with the drivetrain it has now, with a 4wd transfercase and a live axle in place of the rear beam axle.

in regard to the gavril frame idea, why would car that already has unibody structure be put on a ladder chassis from the factory?
and why would bruckell use mechanical parts from gavril, a completely different company?

Putting stuff on the Gavril frame is easy and fun, but it definitely shouldn't be a factory thing, especially not for something from an entirely different company and also unibody. It would be funny to see that as a custom garage built config though, as long as the wheelbase fits and there's no clipping which I doubt.

Unlikely considering that Jbeams for some parts are already in game files

As for D-series I dont know. But this is the Aussie XY ute. Unibody RWD

But a small number had Jeep running Gear shoved into them. While still ( to my knowledge ) using the normal I6.

    ( v8s where RWD only )

    ( off topic ( sorry )

even in the case of 4x4 XWs, they retained the standard ford engine and transmission, but gained an (iirc land rover sourced?) transfer case on the back of it and a front axle, along with generally beefier subframes, though it retained the unibody structure.

the legran wagon does bring up another general point; as the covet's body was also renamed to "hatchback unibody" in the last update, suggesting an alternate bodystyle is also planned for it.
a few possibilities that stick out to me, are a high-roof wagon, like the civic shuttle, though as vehicles like this often came with 4wd, this seems oddly too similar to the legran wagon, so I don't think it's likely.

another obvious option, which has been tried countless times with mods, would be a shorter, lighter fastback coupe sort of body.
this would certainly fit well with the current lightweight parts which were recently added, and is a niche that isn't really fillable with any other vanilla car.

one which i don't think is too likely, considering the similarity to the pessima, would be a sedan bodystyle. this requires probably the most restyling work, and sits in an already oversaturated niche.

to go even further afield, perhaps a flimsy convertible is planned?
the audio raytracing system appears to be still a long way off, and they aren't planning on a shortcut system for the audio, so that would currently be a limitation with a convertible.
however, multiple mods have shown that with enough refinement, soft-top cabrios can be done with acceptable levels of realism (unlike the untested area of hardtops, like that theorised for the K series), so there's likely very little limitation in the N/B area now.

The ETK 800 body was called Wagon Unibody for ages, the part names start with Wagon, all the configs have manually defined Wagon body style in info files, and yet there is no other body style and never has been. So I wouldn't just assume that a single part name change means a new body style. I think it was just renamed for consistency and eventually all unibodies will be renamed.

If this was the case them why are there bits for it already in game and why hasn't a dev said otherwise like they always do for personal mods?

There’s been a lot of speculation on the Legran wagon, and I reckon at this point they’d clear it up if it were just a mod.

I was talking about the Covet thing. The LeGran is definitely getting a wagon version, but I doubt the Covet will ever get a new body style. Like come on it's called "hatch" in the files so it's meant to be a hatchback

The D-series is called pickup and it isn´t only a pickup anymore, since the D10 and D30 SUVs were added. It´s very similar with the H-series, not only a van anymore, we have a flatbed and a rollback. And the FCV is called Vivace even though it contains the Tograc as well.

I guess you do have a point here, though a SUV on a pickup platform is still kinda a pickup to me, only the Roamer is a true SUV. But the D45 is not a pickup anymore so you are right.

If they needed to, they could change these names:
    citybus to something like busDT
    coupe to 200bx
    fullsize to grandmarshal
    hatch to covet
midsize to pessima2 or something similar
    pickup to dseries
    semi to tseries
    super to bolide
    van to hseries
    vivace to fcv

And in the process break half of the existing vehicle mods.
It could always just end up getting a 5 door hatch...

The changing of vehicle models had a specific purpose (to make the vehicles more realistic), and only broke some mods for those vehicles. Changing the internal names of the vehicles would be pointless, and break almost every mod for the affected vehicles, plus scenarios and other gameplay elements that rely on the internal names of vehicles.

While I do agree that it would be pointless, it's also not the developers' jobs to keep mods working, it's the modders' job. Of course they might want to avoid causing a lot of mods from becoming outdated, but it's also not something they're required to do
