How about a simple city on the outskirts of the map?

Gridmap should be the least cpu intensive map of the game just behind the flatgridmap (don't know how to call it), so don't put complex objects with nice textures and a lot of details, all we need is something useful to test and do shit with cars. You could maybe add a sphere in which you can enter to be able to drive into it.

what about old gridmap with improved textures? because most people seem to prefer it over the newer one

There's some map on the repo that's a big hill with things at the bottom you can hit.
Something like that would be nice, so you could test extreme situations with vehicle without needing thrusters, wind cheats, or gravity cheats.

Also maybe update the gridmap scenarios, they are pretty outdated

Adding a long and wide patch of rough ground would be nice just to see how the suspension works and flex's going at various speeds

I’d like to see the terrain testing area expanded a bit. You can’t do that much testing in a small rectangle. A larger square would probably be better. Maybe a longer suspension abuse trail too?

Realistic speed bumps, roads in different conditions (potholes etc) for testing suspension in real circumstances, crash test areas like those in some community maps, extremely long and wide drag strip for super high speed runs

more roads/paths, a high speed offroading track (for prerunner), more crash test things, and smoothen some of the bumps.

I'd love to have a "AI friendly area". A small town/city area similar to VR_City: https://www.beamng.com/resources/vr_city.419/

But besides I am not convinced gridmap really needs a revamp, maybe adding more content on top would be nice, but the somewhat messy/natural evolution of the map over the years is what makes it good in my opinion.

Definitely some ways to test articulation of the suspension. Perhaps something like this?

I think deeper mud would be cool and more off road trails

kind of split on keeping it as its original design, or changing it to more a car testing area for companies like Toyota, Honda etc.

    also add more beamng logos

I think I'd like to see more tracks to drive on. Like "virtual" racetracks so to speak. Or some virtual rock crawling areas like the VR City map that Nadeox made a while ago.
