Does anyone consider the mid-Engine Corvette a "revived" Pontiac Fiero?

I consider it a revived Fiero. Does anyone else?

No, the Corvette sits at a far higher part of the sports car market than the Fiero did.

It's a cut-price Ferrari or Lambo, not an economy car.

Looking at the sales numbers, I'd even wager that the modern Fiero equivalent is something like a Honda HR-V or Jeep Renegade - a small and cheap car that has more panache than the average subcompact, though at a higher price.

What changed is the social attitudes towards cars.

No, because the idea of making the corvette a mid-engine sports car as opposed to a front-engine has been around since the Pontiac Fiero itself was even a glimpse of an idea in any GM executive's mind. As far as I remember, I believe they've been trying nearly every generation since the C2 to make the Corvette mid-engine.
