yes --- Post updated --- I saw a video here a few months ago, I hope this will be added. I don't think my computer will be able to handle this. Credits: MuYe --- Post updated ---
Sorry bro... gonna have to step that up to dual socket i9's and run 4 3090's in full firewire before your gonna have enough megafartz to run good beam... Yeah, more than likely that will not be happening. Unless the dev's find a way to rewrite the rendering engine from the inside out, or decide to switch rendering engines to something that supports Ray Tracing, this won't happen... and seeing as the dev's have made it VERY clear that no such rendering engine switch will ever happen, the only way it could happen would be if they decided to add Ray Tracing into the rendering engine manually... which would be SO much work that they might as well just make Beam 2 on an engine that already supports it.
Now I am not saying to take my word as gospel, as I am not a dev... and the dev's have worked magic and surprised us before... however... this is a surprise that I reeeeeeeeeeally am not expecting to happen
a game engine from 2008 that doesnt even support DX12 has next to zero chance of ever having proper realtime raytracing / DXR. apply common sense
Yeah... on the other hand... I do believe some people have had success with using reshade to get ray tracing to "kinda" work? I believe I read a thread a while ago here that stated something along those lines... I don't know how well it worked though.
