Faster steering

    Hello.
    Im playing with my Xbox 360 Wired controller and i was wondering
    about if i could make the steering instant insted of the "Dynamic Steering".

    there is a way to do it in the tech-demo but i cant rememper how

    Sorry if im being stupid but would like to get some help C:

    Why would you want the steering instant?
    It would just make the steering more unrealistic *superhuman hand speed* and the vehicles uncontrollable.

    Personally i always thought the steering was way too fast as it is using the 360 controller moving the analog stick to the left and right.

    You are right, there is of course a maximum speed which the steering and front suspension beams can withstand, but the vanilla steering speed is way below that.

    I am not sure if this still works as it did in front of the pre-race update. Both files still exist at least, but that does not have to mean much.
    In front of the pre-race update, you where able to adjust general input values in this file, which would affect the speed of the steering. I would suggest to adjust the single cars front suspension .jbeam, instead of the input.lua too much. Gives better results.

    edit: Still seems to work, you need the following binding/command in one of your inputmaps:
    %mm.bindVLuaCmd(keyboard, "shift b", "input.toggleDynamicSteering()", "");
    Change "shift b" to whatever you want.

    I play with the xbox controller and it's way better with instant steering, I don't know how you ended up turning on dynamic steering. Shift-B should fix it.

    Dynamic steering has not been in the code in 10 months. Shift B doesn't do anything. You can speed up the steering by changing the rates in input.lua.

    you mean as long as you dont touch anything?.. because i clearly use dynamic steering the whole time, shift+b on me at least doubles the steering speed. all i did was keeping the dynamic steering code from dynamic.input.lua and the keybinding as described above. thats why your statement confuses me a little.

    Yes, if you add it back in and use the code we removed 10 months ago, it will be back in. I'm not sure what your point is?

    Usual steering is slow and if you use fast steering button, you steer 2x faster

    Dear lord, thread bump from two years ago.

    Not only are there plans, the plans have actually been implemented a long time ago. Check the "filter" and "sensitivity" options in your steering bindings ;-)
