Chrome "files cant be downloaded securely" problem

Hey, so recently ive had an issue thats never happened to me before.
out of nowhere in the past month when downloading mods i get this error from chrome and its just annoying, im not stupid. i know there isnt any viruses here ffs...

anyone know a possible cause for this? its getting annoying.

 

This same problem has happened to me, just click the up arrow then click "Keep" and it will be fine.

 

This issue happens on the latest version of Chrome, though it doesn't occur all the time. In other words, I received such warnings when downloading repository mods sometimes, but in other instances, I didn't. It's weird, but at least Chrome allows you to keep the files.

What is going on with chrome and Beamng Mods Download these days?
I click and its as if its a dead link. it doesnt do anything.
I cant even get it to download properly anymore.
I have to open in a new window and refresh that window for the download to even begin now.

Ironically now when it does download it doesnt do that "files cant be downloaded securely" anymore.

 

same here was getting a (chrome can't download securely) message when downloading but now i get nothing at all. i can use the subscribe button but it's very slow to download. probably a chrome thing though i heard chrome was going to stop letting you download """unsecure""" files entirely

 

Fun fact
I know what happened.
This is exactly what has happened.

Google sees that im downloading a mod thru an http and not https, so its an "UnSeCuRe DoWnLoAd"
The fact that i have to open it in a new window, and trick google into thinking its an http to http web download proves that.
Google is such trash. im thinking about going firefox now.

Sorry for the spam but seeing how you are also having the same issue as me. i found a workaround.

This is the page specifically in the chrome settings that you need to go
chrome://settings/content/insecureContent

Adding Beamng.com to allow will make mods from the repo download automatically.

FINALLY!!!
