So my friend has a tomato pc, and he wants to play BeamNG.Drive. He has: -GT 710 -8GB Ram -Intel Core i7 920
very low graphics settings so dont expect much.Beam would work but bad, expect 20ish fps depending on what map you use
The i7 920 can likely be overclocked up to about 4 GHz. It was one HELL of a CPU for its time. I had one which did anyways (didn't even need to raise the voltage either, only base clock adjustment). Then replace that video card, and you'd be set. Even a 1650 would be an upgrade.
Erm... I know my CPU is higher, but graphics will not be a problem at all - I get over 45fps usually on low graphics, and that's with some features turned on (I don't have the game open right now, sorry to not give what my settings are) See PC specs in signature vvv
Your friend will not likely be able to run the game well at all. An I7 920 will “run” it but the GT 710 is what’s going to end up holding him back. It’s not enough for Beam and he won’t likely get over 20 FPS at low settings unless he’s running gridmap or something.
Interesting! My GT 1030 never got above 45 I think and I was running a better CPU (though not by much at all XD). I think I was running a combo of low and medium settings while I had it BTW.
Huh... I would love to say I know something that improves things... but I don't Maybe it's settings, as mine are all low except the few I tested that didn't affect fps. My GPU is MSI, what was yours?
Yeah, I think the lower temps helps, so if you've got a 710, use msi afterburner and make the thing sound like an airplane
you fell for one of those ebay gaming pc scams didn't you ive done it before the processor is from 2008 and the gpu is bad i reccomend getting a gt1030 or 1050ti/1650 but the processor may struggle
You can't just assume these kinds of things, maybe it''s an old office PC that he's owned for 6 years. It is very possible that he did fall for one of those scams but no one here actually knows that.
i ran with a gt 1030 for a year along with a i5 4430s in my lenovo sff upgraded to a gtx 1650 it was 100% worth it
It could struggle even on lowest. If its a desktop, consider upgrading it or if its a laptop, consider buying a new one.
