Facelifts are looking hot. Not sure how the D-Series is gonna handle yet another facelift in the config area. Hopefully it gets curvier but I can’t really tell from the images.

I also think the taillights on all 3 vehicles look a lot clearer than they actually are in the game right now.

It seems that the facelift D-Series does indeed have new door handles, which is very nice. Hopefully that means the pre-facelift will get new doors as well, but this isn't the time to discuss that. Also, the facelift rear bumper really does look great on the truck.

But I am worried. From what we've seen through what was in the game files and what has since been modded, IMO there is a very fine line between "early 2000's facelift" and "front end from an early 2000's truck superglued to a 1990's truck" and I'm worried this will lean to the latter. Getting rid of that chisled body line would probably be all it needs, but unfortunately that would need an entirely new cab, bed, tailgate, and front fender (already need that one to fit the new parts though). It's a minor change to a lot of parts. They were willing to do a similar thing with the Vivace/Tograc part variations though...

Along with the obvious UI concerns, I am also curious what will happen to the Charro. I'd prefer to see a 2 Door Roamer over a facelift Charro, but sticking this facelift onto the already existing Charro would be easier than sawzalling the LWB Roamer, especially since realstically the Charro would have been discontinued around this time anyway.

Great, a truck too new for 1985 now gets to be too old for 2006.
Why bother actually modifying anything between the front and rear fascias (apart from a door handle) when you can just continuously milk the same body and frame and your 9 year old audience won't care anyway?

Coming soon in 0.22: The 2006 Pessima.

Look, it's got different door handles, mirrors, and wheels, which automatically make it 18 years newer!

    Why so angry?

Let's just say that in the BeamNG universe, the Y2K bug led to a massive recession that lasted around six years, so Gavril couldn't afford a whole new truck platform.

Maybe they aren't doing a third facelift for the D-series, which would be really strange, but only improvements on small details such as door handles and tailights/headlights aspect, which is something these 3 cars needed a lot (and that enjoys me a lot as well !)

I just hope they go the Ford E-series inspiration route with the H series. If they do, my life will be just that much closer to complete :D

The files have been in game for the D-Series to get the Roamer facelift treatment and today's teaser was a D-Series with the facelift Roamer's rear bumper next to a facelift Roamer.

If we are making up in universe styling trends as we go then what's the point of assigning countries of origin and model years in the first place?

D series getting a third facelift wouldn’t work without a new body. It getting a new body would mean more configs and parts though. I seriously doubt it’s gonna be a separate vehicle, so I’m really not sure what the plan is.

I am nearly completely convinced that using the Roamer's cab for the D15 and saying that the D25 and up were a different vehicle (refer to 1999-2016 Ford Superduty) would have been a better choice, but I don't think this is impossible to pull off. The issue is that it isn't bulbous enough for the 2000's, which may be fixable with some new body panels in the same way that the FCV has a set of body panels for the Vivace and a wider set for the Tograc. That chisled line definetly has to go. I'm no CaptainZoll when it comes to photoshop so my moc up ability is limited, but I think this would at least be passable. We already need an entire new front end for the facelift, the bed/tailgate and doors would be easy, but the challenge is then the cab. It isn't as reasonable to then have 2 variations for the single, extended, and crew cabs (+2 more if we want to include the Charro in this for some bizarre reason). Also, 2000's era accessories would help a lot. Insert the discussion we all had with the pre-facelift mirrors.

The Roamer interior and a new bed would go a long way too.

As for the configs, since there's no sign of that new UI I assume we will be seeing them use similar strategy as the previous D-Series facelift, just change out a couple of the existing configs to have the new parts.

On the discussion of D-Series body work, I just want to put a reminder here: The D15 RS still doesn't have a body kit like the Roamer RS and GM RS do. She looks really out of place next to her 1990's factory supercharged cousins.

If you look closely you can see that the A-Pillar of the D-Series looks near identical to that of the H-Series', which is rounder. This leads me to believe the A-Pillar of the D-Series will be rounded for this update.

Since I drive an early '00s pickup truck, I'm really hoping to see some more roundedness, like the jelly-bean Fords or 1st Gen Tundras (Which is what I have). As long as the roofline isn't as chiseled as the current model it would look great. That said, even if that doesn't happen, I am still very happy about getting another D-Series to play with either way. More content is always good.

Even if it retains the old body. More content is still better than no content.

I'd take a 2000's facelift slapped onto an 80's bodyshell over nothing any day.

Granted a whole new body would be preferable, I'll take what I can get

I don’t really agree. Quality over quality, you know? A 2000s facelift on the 80s body looks stupid, and it doesn’t belong in the game.
