Worked helping to prepare 6 truck loads of new 2021 Hyundais and Kias to get them rental ready. They have to be assigned a unit number, keys bound with a key tag, stripped of their protective plastic, fueled, affixed with a license plate, and run through the car wash(rip paint). Then they're ready for service. Made a short detour to the high-speed proving grounds for a romp in a base model 1.6 turbo Sonata with 4 miles on the odometer. The look of this car is growing on me but it's a nice drive. More lively than I expected The interior feels nice but is sort of plain and the infotainment ui sucks.
Cool things about a Chinese 540W light bar: its bright, its actually somehow not all that hot when on, it looks cool Terrible things about a Chinese 540W light bar: how in the FUCK am I supposed to mount it, all the screws and nuts are aluminum, clearly made for small off-roaders and not a Jeep 4/10 would have a shop do it again
My Grandmother just bought a 2020 Hyundai Sonata with the 2.5L N/A I4. I hope it's better than the Ford Focus she traded for it...
Does anyone else find it funny that the abbreviation for "Naturally Aspirated" looks like 'Not Applicable"? And I hope so too, cause if so the Hyundai Sonata is a pretty great car
How does the Elantra/Forte drive? They manage to lose half their value after a year. Is this because they're nasty little things to drive?
Those are pretty decent cars. The little 4cyl is gutless but pretty well isolated. The highway ride stands out to me as really planted, smooth, and stable for the class. The depreciation is just a Hyundai thing. They are pretty cheap. I haven’t gotten a chance to drive the all new 2021 Elantra however.
Well, the chrome strips are controversial, to say the least, but remember some fondly-remembered stuff, like the Buick Riviera's "boat tail" or 50s tailfins, also didn't necessarily sit well with everyone.
The Aston martin Valkyrie will be faster than an lmp2 car, while road legal. It will produce 1160 hp, weigh 1100kg (2200 lbs I think) and produce 4000 lbs of downforce. It will be designed by legendary F1 designer Adrian Newey, have a top speed of 250 mph, have an F1 seating position, and still have air conditioning. For context, the VW IDR, which holds the Pikes Peak Hillclimb, Goodwood Hillclimb, and electric car Nürburgring lap records, weighs the same, has only 2200 lbs of downforce, and only 650 hp.
4,000 lbs purely through ground effect, and seating position is more like LMP1 than F1(narrow cockpit, seating canted 2 degrees toward each other).
Thats why I love ground effect and venturi tunnels. Chain bear has some good f1 videos on it. --- Post updated ---
