Right so I'm new here and I don't know if this section is the correct one for asking mods-related problems but, I downloaded some mods from world of mods, installed them with their own installer, everything worked fine till I cleared the cache, all the mods had disappeared when I cleared the cache, so I manually installed them all again thinking maybe that was the issue but they disappeared again upon clearing cache, hence I searched up a bit and found out that they need to be installed into the mods folder in my documents, unextracted from the zip but then my mods didn't appear in-game at all, they only appear and run after being extracted and put into the vehicles folder in the game's directory. So I searched some more and came across a probability on this very forum, that maybe the mods downloaded weren't 'packed' correctly, I'm not sure what means but if that is so, is there any guide on how to pack them correctly or any way I can run my mods without having them disappear after clearing cache?

NEVER DOWNLOAD MODS FROM WORLD OF MODS. That's the solution. Only download mods from this forum. They will always work. If you really NEED the World of Mods ones, NEVER USE THE INSTALLER. An .exe file is the best way for them to hide a virus. I think they install in the cache files so that's why they disappear when you clear cache. Not only you can get a virus from World of Mods, but also 99.9% of their mods are either stolen (from this forum or from private mod creators) or really low quality. Scan your PC immidiately and never go there again. You can search here for the same mods, you can find some of them and they will work properly.

I totally understand that but most of the mods I downloaded aren't here, or anywhere for that matter except these sketchy sites. I tried searching them here only before getting them from worldofmods but after not being able to find them here I got them from there. To be fair though, they put the name of the creator in the "Author:" row below the mod and also in the readme inside the .RAR file, now I don't know at all if that person they put the name of is really the creator or not but seems so to be honest. Apart from that thanks a lot for reminding me to scan, thankfully my PC wasn't infected by any viruses yet. I did find a Raptor mod here and that worked wonderfully and all the other cars in the game itself are amazing, I just want to make those other mods work too.

Yes, most definitely! I totally get the thing about the installer and I do it manually now but my problem is that my mods won't run unless I put them in the vehicles folder inside the game directory but won't show up in-game if I tried putting them inside the mods folder in documents.

That's because they have no idea how to pack a mod correctly for Beam, all mods should be in the mod folder.
Delete every mod from World of Mods or your computer will commit sad. Only use this website for mods(WBIMP is a really good one, go download it)

    Hello there, thank you!

Yeah well that's what I said, I put them into the mod folder and they didn't run, they don't even appear in-game if I do that but work just fine when I put them in the vehicles folder.

If they aren't on this website then there are usually 3 possibilities:
    • They are really low quality because people who steal mods don't know how to make mods themselves. In this case it's not even worth using them.
    • They are stolen private mods. In this case using them is disrespectful to the author. Also private mods are often not as high quality as public ones.
    • They might have existed on this website before but got removed. In this case some of them could also be downloadable in safer ways than Russian websites. They might be on various Discord servers or Google Drives. I have a link saved to a Google Drive with some cool deleted mods by Darren9, but it's not mine so idk if I can share it. DaddelZeit made it, ask him if you want and maybe he will give you the link. You can also find a few deleted mods on Reddit if you know what to search, but they are not common there.

Truly, I totally understand the viewpoint of the mods being stolen and to be fair I'm no longer interested in making THOSE mods work, I just want to figure out what's really the cause of the problem. As kwai38 said they have no idea how to pack a mod, which is what I believe too, I want to figure out what's the correct way to pack them.

Damn, thanks a lot brother! I didn't intend to beg or something, but thank you for this!
