Just got the keys to my pops car, signed all the paper work and its officially mine now, he just told me out of the blue that it was time for me to take the car. I've been driving it for ages now but to actually own it is a whole 'nother feeling. It is a 1976 Holden Torana Hatchback SL It has a 4.2 litre V8 and a Trimatic (Hydramatic 180), and its still got the Banjo type differential with a 2:78 ratio, so the engine is just ticking along on the highway. No power steering is a plus because i can actually feel the road, besides power steering is for the weak. The only aircon is windows but seeing as im always on the move they very effective. AM/FM cassette player works a charm, it not original but its period correct, plus that gives me reason to use my pops cassettes, its always tuned into Curtin FM and seeing how its saturday and the classic '60s program is raging on i might go for a spin after i write this. Its a shame that there are no other Rockers on the road anymore, the only young people that are looking for a bit fun with their cars is them pesky ricers with their loud cancerous music, probably a good thing though because it is a typical fragile Holden... Anyway the fuel economy is surprising, especially since i'm in the city. There's ample power when i need it and it'll really fly with enough room and time but overall its barely adequate, i do like the sound it makes however. I think a new set of points, Genie extractors (still has the factor headers) will do just tops, and in time and with money i'll put a very slight cam in it and a smaller Holley 450 carb on it because its running a huge Holley 650 double pumper. The only things not original are the flares, wheels and black paint, zero rust and is sitting on about 273,000kms so the car has obviously been well looked after in its long life, something im keen to continue on. So yeah thats now officially my own car, very proud of it i am, now i can show them pesky ricers at school who is the king of the car park. Yeah i know its somewhat a bump but hey its only been a just under a month
Thank you very much, though there are better cars out in the world (a 1958 Plymouth for example) Anyway what is that interesting looking car you have there ?
2006 Mustang GT, got her October 29th 2020, managed to find a picture from the dealer as my phone camera is wack, only thing done to it is a CAI, 2018 Mustang rims and a carbon hood, a fairly unmolested base for a project/daily, wanted a stick shift bad and it was between this and a 1st gen Miata but all the 1st gen Miatas around me at the time were clapped out, rusted out, or automatics
2 Years later, I now own a 2014 Ford Edge SEL. I currently have owned this for maybe 1.5 years I'd like to say. After the Saturn I owned a 2003 Buick LeSabre Custom (because I totaled the Saturn lmao) My mother now owns 1 2020 Kia Soul Base And my father now owns a 2012 Ford Escape XLT (The electronics in the Explorer ended up going out so we kinda had to replace that)
i have a 1991 VW Golf since 2 years. no GTI, just a 54HP Diesel and yes i got a license plate with GOLF2 on it lucky that the golf mod for CMS18 on my profile pic doesnt have a front license plate so i dont leak it --- Post updated --- Also had a 2006 Peugeot 107 and a Nissan Primera GT from 1997. I miss the Primera like no other thing and if i got money for a project car, it will be a 1997 Nissan Primera. With SR20DETT swap, instead of the GT SR20DE.
I don't have a car so far because I am only 14 But both my mom and my dad has one My mom:2009 Peugeot 307 1.6 Sedan My dad:2012 Peugeot 408 1.6(A Peugeot sedan for China,East Europe and South America)
1. So I own a ~1963 Volkswagen Beetle with no suspension, Engine or any other running gear his name is Herbie because well just look at the photos but I have some interesting facts about him he use to be a purple hot rod with flames (because the dash is purple and there's flame pin striping on the doors) before I owned him and before the last dude owned him and he was mint from the factory my plans for him late in the future is to put a Subaru motor in there and restore him to working condition (got him for my 10th birthday). 2. So my Dad owns a 1999 Toyota Camry V6 Touring it's got the ~200hp v6 that most 1999 Camrys have and the 4-Speed Auto, it's got a red pinstripe on the trim ditch thing and a big "Touring V6" on the side, it's the most unique XV20 Camry I've ever seen it even has the optional wing and a nice set of factory alloys. But the reason that I'm taking about it is because when my dad buys a new car (that probs isn't gonna happen for a little while, can't find a SUV with the right amount of space at a good price) I will (if everything goes to plan) will eventually be my first (running) car and also random trivia my mum owned a 1999 Toyota Camry CSi (same engine and gearbox) in a lighter blue and these 2 cars are why I like the XV20 Camry soo much and the V6 Touring's name is Marie forgot to mention it in the original post.
