Multi-Player/Spawn Etiquette/Cntrl + Home?

Trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. A few weeks ago, I went on MP and joined 3 others in an ECU play. They were all parked in the gas station on the north side of Firwood-- the new v0.17 one-- and I was trying to spawn a bus in the pullout bus stop along Hwy.1 east side of map.

I was sufficiently far away enough from them (I think?), that when I spawned the bus I would have thought it should have done it at the bus stop. No... it came down on all 3 players at the gas station. I think I made them mad... they soon left the session after I got there. Crying shame... I didn't mean to do that to them... I just don't understand how this works.

First off I thought it spawned your default vehicle (blue D-15 for me) in the location you pre-select. No... apparently it comes down on the other players. I know not why. So I free cammed back to the bus stop, got low to the ground, hit F7... and I think I still landed atop the other players. Well... that's when they left. 2nd time around, they probably thought I did it on purpose.

So how does Cntrl + Home work and how does it fit into the proper spawn equation? It resets home position, but wasn't the bus stop where I started already home position? Is the fact that MP starts you off without a car in an empty space, why I'm having all this trouble?

On a side note, how do I speak to people on Discord? 'Road Dog LLC' runs one of the West Coast USA sites, and he said before you go spawning all over people, if you have any questions be sure to ask him in his Discord. Well I searched his name, found him, but the little chat field at the bottom is "circle-slash-red" for me, and it says I'm not authorized to chat.

So how am I supposed to use this service if I can't chat with anyone? Seems silly to me.

 

i think usually f7 teleports the centre of the car to wherever your camera is, even if it's attatched to the vehicle.

 

Okay thank you. That's the usual norm, but I have a feeling that beside F7, I left out a step or two.
