you could take the textures and convert them into a .cs materiall rather than .json, since the textures are the same file format still (.dds) . Could probably make it work that way, maybe base it off the materials of an ETK or something
What in my opinion is a problem with this "back-port" is that you may be giving official content for people who pirate for no cost whatsoever. Some pirates may be stuck on a old version of the game because pirate and by doing this, you are giving those pirates a piece of the game's content only available by updating the game by buying it. As other people have said before, pls for the love of god stop
Heck.. I bought the game recently coz I was tired of pirating... I mean, some of us ex-piraters even always download the game again just to get the latest version.. like.. some of us have standards lmao.. But f*** it just buy the game.. it ain't that expensive.. I'm in india and it ain't that expensive to me.. (I have a potato pc tho) so.. rant end..
I think some people here are being a bit harsh, but let's be real. for the amount of time it would take to port this car to an older version of the game, you could get a job, and use your wages to buy a better pc, which not only sill support the new versions, but will also run the game better.
Yeah, we were probably a little harsh but the problem is that he's being to hard headed, when we told him he couldn't do it because of limitations, he just went on with his project.
Bruh I bet you can download 0.20. (A pirated version), and a mod from 2019 wont work. BET! Also, the game isn't that expensive, its just 25$ (Witch when its on discount prob 15$).

Let me just make a summary of what’s happening because you kinda have the wrong idea, Dude makes a thread saying he ported over the vivace to an older version Other forum users say that it’s not possible as the older versions don’t have the required things like a CS. file for the materials for the vivace too work He gets pissed since we suspect he has a pirated version of beam He says he did buy the game but some of us are still suspicious because he never explained why he can’t update to the latest version He’s way to hard-headed and continues the project anyway knowing that people who pirate BeamNG will now have access to things only people who have the latest version of beam can have I make my rant, which is now scaring myself since I actually lost my cool way too much And now we’re here at this breaking point.
You realize we all take for granted the ability to play .20 because we have decent computers. Not everyone can do that! I see people in this thread that are calling the person trying to do this a "pirate" because they believe they pirated the game. They didn't! They can't run the new version of the game on their PC which shouldn't disallow them from being in the community. Don't try to make them feel bad, try to encourage them! One thing he could do is try to re-make the textures, although it might be hard there's a chance it could work with enough tweaking. Good luck, man. Guys, you know BeamNG 0.16 and up require DirectX 11 to work? Many people are stuck on version 4.0.6 (DX9, Windows XP) or 0.15.0.3 (DX10) because their computer doesn't support DirectX 11.
I highly doubt that, I mean we're talking about 400 series, GT, GTS and GTX with probably cost less than the game itself at this point. If You can afford to run your computer, You can afford to upgrade to DX11 10 years after it's release. Probably some weird OS or platform they're running on doesn't allow them to run or they're not smart enough to run it. Either way, this thread is dumb. Help him or don't, spamming insults and accusations is not what threads are for.
If you can't run dx11 to get the Vivace, how did you get the Vivace files? Reuploading game files is against the rules.
Ik, that beamng lags af, but not everyone will spend 400+$ on PC. Actually, if your game runs 100 fps on Utah, you can spend those 500 bucks on traveling to Thailand (if it's opened for your country).
You seem to forget about laptops...? I have a perfectly functional i7 ultrabook that could run the game pretty well just one year ago. The nVIDIA GPU onboard isn't DX11-compliant. I just don't play the game anymore on it. I own various newer machines that can run it, so it's not a problem... but I honestly don't feel like judging other forum members' spending faculties nor priorities.
what does it need? is it running and driving and crashing already? materials shouldn't be too hard to rewrite, just time consuming. the textures should be fine to use. here's a probably not very useful translation on cs/json also, it's definitely nothing short of impossible to do. whether you'd have to make it from ground up or just rewrite some newer files to older, it should theoretically be possible.
