Hi everyone, I have a .dae static object (+ matching cs file for textures) in a folder (created with Blender). I would like to be able to import that object in BeamNG. Does anyone know what are the steps to spawn my object in-game? Where am I supposed to put my folder containing the .dae? In my BeamNG folder I guess but where exactly? I tried to put it in steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\content\levels\Utah.zip\levels\Utah\art\ but it doesn't work, after loading Utah map I can't find a way to make my object spawn anywhere... I tried a lot of different location but all unsuccessful. In the editor (F11), I searched into the Scene tree for hours but can't find anything helpful... Thanks a lot to anyone who can help me!
Anything you add to the game should be going thru the mods folder. This folder is located in the user folder of the game. I'm not a map maker/modder but you have to compress your files into a .zip file and the structure inside would look somewhat like : levels/utah/... ← the dots here indicate that I don't know where exactly your files go beyond that point. With lack of experience I would definitely make a copy of an original map and put it in a temporary folder to explore it and learn how it's structured.
Thank you so much for your answer. It helped me a lot as I now managed to make my object spawn in BeamNG! I didn't think of trying BeamNG mod user folder! But it was the key I put my object in BeamNG.drive\levels\MapName\art\MyObjectFolder and were able to spawn it by replacing an already existing static object on the map with the Scene Tree. Now I have a problem with missing my object textures, but I guess this is an other subject and I'll try to find more info about that on my own! Thanks again Have a good day!
