So I've been considering what kind of car to purchase, and I just fell in love with the concept of a very small pickup truck. However, it seems that those types of small cars aren't legal to drive on highways etc. Anyone know what's the smallest I could get and still drive on a highway?
NJ, so I'd probably have to import it, if it was even feasible. I'll look into those cars you mention too, though.
There are some dealers of these things in the USA. Can't find any in NJ tho. You can buy one in the USA from a dealer, however you can only license it in some states. If you live on a farm or large section of land you could drive it there if you can't get it street legal. You could also trailer it to an off-road park and drive it there. They are cool, I want one. Heres a dealer in the US: http://www.xtrememinitrucks.com/index.php
"Three-wheel vehicles are titled according to the Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin (MCO). If the MCO indicates that the vehicle is a passenger car, then the BMV would title and register it as such." Usually thats how it is.
I was on a mini-truck kick for a while. From what I understand they're like $10,000 if you buy within the country and are basically not legal on most public roads since their top speed is 45mph I believe. Mini trucks here are mainly used by companies with large compounds; it allows their employees to get around quickly and more comfortably than a golf cart. I almost pounced on buying one at a farm equipment auction, but it was in rough shape. Off the top of my head, SMART cars, the Mini Cooper, and the Fiat 500 are all common small cars I see around here. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
