I seem to be getting only up to 100KB/s? I read that if you open certain ports you will download faster, but I dont know how to :-(

Let me just interupt your complaining by saying that it is worth it.
The new update is kinda nice!
I couldn't run Dry Rock Island, but now I can!

But yeah, it took half a day to download...
And it didn't actually update the game (it installed some stuff on the C drive, but my game is in the D drive).

Just make sure your computer doesn't go on stand-by, go to work and let it download the update... And then get disappointed if it still hasn't completly downloaded everything when you get home and let it run trough the night... Yeah, the download was a nightmare, but as I said, it's worth it.

 

How do I forward 4433 and 8700?

 

Took me only about 20 min to download folder, then about 15 min or so to download the patch. (guess servers aren't overloaded anymore)

 

I think i helped .i did seed more before that but i closed in between going to close for bit

 

It really depends on your router, but for starters try visiting your default gateway in your browser (usually 192.168.1.1).

Find it by opening cmd.exe, type in ipconfig, and find the number labelled Default Gateway.

If it asks for a password and your router is cable/DSL/fiber company provided, there's a good chance the username and password will be on a sticker on the router. If not or that doesn't work, try the defaults (can be found for your model router online, just Google "<MY ROUTER> default password" or ask the person who set up the router.

Poke around, usually port forwarding will be under a menu called Applications and Gaming or something similar. (NOTE: Not all routers support port forwarding)

If you find it, forward the ports to your IPV4 address, which once again can be found using ipconfig in cmd.exe. (NOTE: Your IPV4 address may change from time to time, if your forwarded ports stop working right this is the first thing to check.)

So, something like

Forward from port 8700 to 8700, to 192.168.1.8
Forward from port 4433 to 4433, to 192.168.1.8

for example.

If you could get us the make and model of your router we may be able to help you more.

 

Downloaded fresh copy through the normal download process TWICE today and it was speedy and flawless-5MB-7MB/sec.
