I was watching this video at random, because, Youtube rabbit holes. I know this game simulates a lot of things, but watching the torque converter stall so much on big heavy loads got me wondering, "That torque converter is dropping over 350 BHP. Where is all that energy going?" Does anyone know if the game has a system for heat building up in various parts like torque converters, and transmission fluid potentially causing problems? If not, would it be something to maybe implement in the future? ((I miss obvious things often. Feel free to migrate/merge post as needed, mods))
No, Transmission Thermals are not simulated (yet). I assume, like with Tire Thermals, they will come at a later date.
Yep since there are no thermals for the torque converter, the energy that would in real life heat up the fluid, just ceases to exist.
Yeah makes sense. Makes me wonder, though, is there a plan to implement those thermal sims? I'm hazarding a guess it's somewhere on the minds of the team, but IDK if it's gonna be something that'll come soon. On the other hand it could be a rather simple thing to implement, so for all I know it could come as a sort of small feature in an update.
There are currently not short-term plans for additional thermal systems. The problem with these is always that they are far from simple. There's much more to it than just how much energy goes in, and most of the times there is no real data available to model against...
