First off: Secondly, it DOES work. I actually literally just went on a driving session with it through East Coast, USA. You either haven't updated your game for hotfixes or there is a mod messing with it.
I'm sorry, but the RX-7 discussion thread cannot be replied. Found the problem, you need to remove the rear seats or select configs without rear seats to drive without crashing the game.
Hello everyone, I'm currently working on fixing misalignments (specifically, the handbrake and shifter being off center on the coupe model, and the steering wheel being way off-center relative to the steering column, on both RHD and LHD bodies)! I'm going to post very soon - it took a lot of trial and error - but I'm still running v0.19.4.2 via a backup, so any v0.20 and up issues are totally Greek to me. Let me know if there is anything you might want looking at for v0.20+ and I'll try to find time to take a look and make whatever diagnosis I can by running the latest version of the game with the mod on my steam-updated copy of the game!
yall want sum erotic picz (sorry it's really hard to get it perfectly centered, the coordinates in blender don't match what's actually outputted by the game, and I honestly can't be bothered too much to try and perfect the LHD steering wheel cuz it took me two days of sitting in front of my computer to get to where I am rn and I don't even use the LHD configs too much)
Also need to fix the off-center license plate, and if possible fix the broken rear wheels (if the chosen rear wheels are too wide they break off).
Right, so I've created a hotfix which basically adds things to hotfix 11. I completely reworked the sounds (using the files from Initial D) and adjusted the redline on the silvertop engine to 10k, as it seamed to be bothering some people.
Who here knows how to deal with glowmaps? I can change the light's flares and stuff, so like for example if I change the side fender lights from headlights to "signal_L/signal_R" it'll behave as a blinker instead of turning on when the lights are on. This changes the flares and the projected light, but it doesn't change the actual light's glow material, it still remains solid as if the lights are on instead of blinking like the flare does. How do I change that?
send pic pls and I'll take it on great! I'll add my edited steering wheel jbeam's and coupe mesh to this when I get the chance, tho I'd like to take a look at the plate thing first --- Post updated --- I can work with glowmaps (not a pro tho), can u send me a screenshot of the glowmap with ur changes included on it? Thanks in advance
Okay, so what I tried was going into the trueno_fenders.jbeam and the trueno_bumper_F.jbeam files and looking at the light functions. I swapped the variables "signal_R" and "signal_L" with "lowhighbeam", and did the opposite for the fenders. And... it sorta worked? So now the front ones come on, but they don't actually glow, it's just the flare. Also, for some reason the left light's (relative to the car's direction) flare is offset for some reason. And as you can see, the side lights don't have a flare, but they still glow. And now here's a picture of testing turn signals. How do I swap the actual glowmap things for these? And how can I fix that offset flare on the headlight picture? For the flare on both sides of the bumper their positions are the same, one's just mirrored (negative) on one axis so it goes to the right of the bumper instead of the left. --- Post updated ---
I can work with glowmaps (not a pro tho) so the flares that r misaligned r probably brought over from the coupe (200bx) and never changed (i'm guessing it was forgotten about and accidentally left on the ae86). sorry I didn't clarify earlier - what I meant was, can you send me a screenshot of the JBEAM text file stuff you're editing? so the thing is, the FLARE is pretty separate from the GLOW - you can have a glowmap and no flares, and vice-versa. If you want to edit the flares, you need to look at the "props" area of the corresponding part's jbeam file, where you'll find exactly to which function each flare is linked. The glowmap does the same thing, but instead of using positioning based on reference nodes and generic flares, it uses textures (materials defined in the materials.cs/main.materials.json) and UV mapping (you need to link the face of the respective light to an area on the "lights_on" image file, which contains the images of all the lights for when they're turned on). Side note: if you turn the lights on with n and then use the blinkers, what should happen is that the "lights_on_intense" image file is used too. So the way I see it right now (just off my intuition, since i don't yet know how you edited the jbeam), the issue is probably one of two things: Either the wrong function is linked to the flares that don't show/show when the light texture is off (spotlight), and/or the wrong texture file is linked to the wrong function (glowmap) Or, the right texture images are linked to each part of the right function, but no glowing light texture shows because of a lack of uv mapping or incorrect uv mapping (glowmap/Blender) If you can clarify what's missing and what should/shouldn't be there, I can take a closer look at it, and I could use that jbeam edit screenshot as well. Is it that the first image is supposed to be highbeam, where only the headlights and the lights on the bumper (i think they're foglights) should be on, while for the 2nd image of turnsignals (which I assume are functioning the same on each fender with your edits, unless you only changed things on one fender), only the fender lights and the lights right below the headlight should be on? (By the way, when I say something should be "on," I mean that it should have a flare and a glowing texture right behind said flare)
Those screenshots were from a while back, when I made the changes I reverted them back. But I basically went into the .jbeam files for the front bumper and fenders, and swapped "lowhighbeam" with "signal_L" and "signal_R", and vice versa, like I said before. You could try just opening the .jbeams yourselves and taking a look at it, I'll send screenshots of the parts I edited in a moment. That was all I edited, I didn't change anything else. In terms of the screenshots, here's how it should look: When lights are on: The fender lights should be OFF. The front bumper orange lights should be ON. When blinkers are on: The fender lights should be BLINKING The front bumper orange lights should be OFF. When I edited the flare stuff, replacing lowhighbeam with signals and vice versa, the flares work just fine. But now I gotta do the same to the actual glow, and that's what I'm trying to figure out how to do. Anyways, if you want to see what I edited, look at these pictures
