game shows no sign of starting

so i got the game a couple years back and now with my new laptop i decided to try it because i barely ran on my old laptop. i download the game on steam i press play and nothing happens. i can see it in my taskmanager but that is it . any help would be appreciated ,

If you update the game the bug should be fixed, but you still might have to do what the thread says. Just read it and you should be fine .

 

well the thing is i dont have a launcher? so safe mode is out of the books. i have installed it with the latest version and i am now downloading a later version. also i cannot acces my files to change things.

Edit i have downloaded a earlier version with a launcher but it is still the same

 

Did you buy the game off of steam or humble?
Also, Ididn't say you should download an older version of the game, you should get the lastest.

yes and i tried but i cannot acces my game files and save mode wont work because i dont get a launcher

 

First of all, you always have a launcher when you have the game installed correctly, second of all, why can't you access your game files?

 

it says something about my cloudefileprofider cannot be executed. about the launcher i dont know i just have it installed on my cdrive wich is a ssd it had planty of space.and when i do try to launch it in my taskmaneger it can only find the game running in details and not anywhere else but i cannot fire the game up

 

So you don't get this window when you start up your game? Do you launch it using steam?

or can it be that i removed my onedrive and that is messing about with things.
but then again i downloaded the game way after i had deleted onedrive of my laptop
