Mixing the two maps, Port and IS would be better in my humble opinion, since Port right now is very unloved, like people just use Port mostly for drifting and screenshots. Maybe Industrial Port aye?
Well, as much as I hate to say it, I think that the latest video confirms a merger of Port and Industrial into a single map, possibly titled Industrial Port. Those LNG tanks appear to be the same ones that Nadeox1 showed in the Development Media thread with the entrance to the Port behind them, and the port cranes themselves seem to be visible in the distance. Unless the team has plans to merge the existing port to Industrial and do something completely new with the Port map, I'd say that their time seperated is finally coming to a close. As an aside, the Texas plate seems very much intact, and the vegetation seems very Texas-like. Will it hold to the final version? We can only speculate.
here's a fun question: what do you guys think the passenger van (and maybe van-truck) version are going to be called? considering the van is called the "vanster" and the chassis cab the "cabster"? buster doesn't really seem that fitting, but "truckster" could?
I thought "Vansport" or "Vansporter" (like transport/transporter) for a passenger van version might work, as it's still a van body style. But who knows.
are you talkig about a passenger van or a van conversion? i wouuld be really happy to se a van conversion, even if the h-series is a bit new for those
"Vanhammer" could be a name for a surfer van config aye? Sounds fitting xD. Now that y'all said it, was the H-series originally going to be a cargo van or a passenger van in the lore?
I don't know why people want them back together, when I don't see any advantage in that. With so much empty space on the map, Port could have added another small town to the game. I was honestly hoping that we would get something like this... ...for the Port map, leaving Industrial as the racetrack map, like ECA and Hirochi. Outside of Italy, BeamNG has only two major "cities" (Firwood and Belasco) and three minor population centers (ECA's harbor, Utah's trailer park, and Horizon Estates). The rest of the maps are either completely desolate (Gridmap, Grid Pure, Cliff), are completely abandoned (JRI, current Port/Industrial), or have only a couple houses/buildings dotted around the map (Hirochi, ETK DEC, Automation, Small Island, and Derby Arenas). That may not bode well for career mode, as Port/Industrial are (likely) in Texas - quite a ways away from the population centers (and more importantly, car dealerships, repair shops, and (possibly) junkyards) in Utah, California, and Maine. Speaking of the ETK DEC, here's a quick Photoshop I made a while back of how it could be improved for career mode. Basically, I added a fairly large town and a gas station to the map, and added a road loop allowing the player to get around it fairly quickly. Of course, this isn't quite up to spec - it's quite empty, and I could make the junction heading west from the DEC smoother - but it works better than the current "smash into a barrier every time you go on the highway" approach.
Pretty much for the same basic reason as DriftinCovet, though with a different endgoal. I was hoping that they would remain seperate so that all-new content Would be used to fill in the blank spaces of each map, although the idea of adding a town didn't occur to me. I was expecting something more like two differently-laid-out industrial parks using the same or similar assets, with the port in the Port map being greatly expanded in size. At this point, who knows? Map development seems a little up in the air at the moment, with remasters seeming to be the sole priority. We could see new maps using these same assets a little further down the road - it would be nice to have a texan city/town-type map as a companion to Industrial and Derby - sort of the same approach of ECUSA and Hirochi Raceway.
This track is in the video about the new checkpoints is the racetrack of industrial site. Based on how the asphalt roads go it can't be the rallycross course. And the round things in the background might not mean that port will be placed on industrial because those might be these storage containers(I don't know what they are) . In another shot in the video, I can see this building . I think that if the port section would be added to industrial it would remove this section. More evidence for it being the race track is this picture of the sand piles that are close to the track. And in the last shot you can see the racetrack whit a dirt section around it, as well as a big building net to the entrance for the dirt track (not the rally course one but the one whit mud) TL:dr the racetrack on industrial will get a dirt course around it and there's a mysterious building
