A gaspy old Czechoslovak van that served as a commercial vehicle in many variants for many decades. UPDATE 6/22/23: Minor fixes. Added missing pedals, tweaked the jbeam (fixed instability, weakened the front end, but it's still too sturdy in collisions imho), tweaked the engine. It can now start if it stalls, although the latest game update did something weird to the starter, so I suppose when another update rolls out I'll have to tweak again. Some texture bug occured since the last version (the whole interior got colored by the primary color), fixed that, too. UPDATE 1/10/23: as suggested in the comments, I added bloom to the lights. It should look like this: UPDATE 1/8/23: some fixes - mainly textures and physics, general cleanup (more cleanup should be done). Link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/14Alz6MIoePjP3RAcxY8vip9FsuLm37aM?usp=share_link clear the cache if something seems to be broken improved front suspension geometry and overall stability. the car might still struggle with handling, but that's expected. I should say I cheated here and there... the red cross (old ambulance version) should be displayed correctly now. Let me know if the transparency is still an issue. added the barebones "factory" passenger version. colors adjustable on versions where it makes sense (passenger, flatbed, van, com), predefined where it doesn't (police, ambulance, hearse, fire...) cargo on the flatbed version - wooden crate (200kg+) or wooden planks (1.4T+) added stronger springs and shocks, as well as better brakes and radiator if you want to play around with the cargo on flatbed. The springs have adjustable height. removed the tarp roof from the flatbed version. it's fugly. If you want, you can still stich it together from the old version, go ahead. fixed some console warnings, not sure what the remaining ones are about, dunno how to fix em textures in dds format mostly. was told it's better that way. wanted to include the cdae model file instead of dae (4x less size), but the game won't display the car that way, so I guess that's not doable. UPDATE 9/30/22: complete remaster of the mod. Drop the zip into documents/BeamNG.drive/current_version/mods (current version as of 9/30/22 is 0.26) Let me know if something doesn't work! Broken parts, scripts, missing textures etc. I tried test as much as I could, but installing it fresh might reveal some weird bugs. Teaser: Pics (download the mod to see all versions yourself): Changelog: Improved model, jbeam, new materials (pbr compliant!), all custom made (including lights, glass, broken bits etc.). I'd like to thank atomix and the rest of the Czech/Slovak car enthusiast community on Discord for putting up with my endless questions I always get the best reference photos and technical information I'd struggle to find otherwise. Thanks to the beamng community on Discord for all the help with modding. Used a free cracked glass texture from here: https://www.freepik.com/free-photo/fissured-glass-texture_27504190.htm#query=cracked glass&position=12&from_view=keyword Script-wise, I improved the movement of the shifter, supporting 4 gears (+reverse) and 5 gears (+ reverse). Follows a proper H pattern. Feel free to test it and find bugs if there's any. Implemented a custom signal turn off - if the signal is on, as you turn the wheel, there's several clicking points (indicated by an actual 'click' sound). If you then straighten the wheel, the indicator will turn off depending on how far you turned the wheel in the first place. I find the vanilla default system too simple, this one is a bit more realistic. Again, let me know if you find bugs. I wanted to do this for a long time but I kept putting it off. I know a lot of you kept asking for an update and most people probably gave up on ever seeing any improvement on this van. I actually started working on this a few months earlier but my PhD kept me busy, so the progress was quite slow. There's still some progress to be made, but let's enjoy what we have for now. The versions available so far: two ambulance vans, one from earlier era (brown), one later (yellow). If you open the rear gates ('o' key), a small platform will form. Sometimes if you crash hard enough and beams break, you'll end up with the bits of the platform clipping through parts of the car. Not sure if it's worth fixing and what would such a fix look like two cop vans (blue VB and later yellow VB) Fire truck COM and VAN - only differ by seats and blinded windows Post office van ('SPOJE') Hearse - this one is actually very cheap, just tinted windows and black paint. If I ever find time, I'll consider adding maybe a casket, some hanging wreaths, curtains, landau bars etc. (though Skoda 1203 hearse did not feature these ornaments, as far as I can tell from the pictures) Passenger version with some camping gear strapped to the roof. Watch it fly when you crash! Flatbed - so far, only the roof-less version is considered remastered. You can try adding the roof through the parts selector, just be forewarned, it's hideous. I'll have to figure out how to texture it better. cheeky "DeLuxe" version with too many headlights and too much chrome. Original post: Ambulance, State Police (Verejna Bezpecnost - VB), Cargo and Passenger versions are now available! Rear doors open by pressing 'o' on keyboard. Comes with a weak Skoda 1.2L engine, more powerful TAZ 1.5L engine and a totally OP engine, if you want to have some fun. Cargo version contains a wooden crate with adjustable weight. Might require a stronger engine if you wanna lug it up some steep hill ) For the future I plan a hearse version with casket in the back and wreaths hanging off the sides. I also would like to make the facelifted version with plastic bumpers and square headlights. HOW TO INSTALL: drop the zip file into your documents/BeamNG.drive/version_number/mods (as of 9/30/22, the current version of the game is 0.26) Pics: Video: Model, materials and jbeams are mine. I would much like to thank the whole modders Discord community for their invaluable help, support and feedback throughout the creation of this mod. In particular I'd like to thank @TrackpadUser without whose immense help with the frame, suspension tuning, node weight reduce this mod would not be finished. Moreover thanks to @Ai'Torror , beep beep and @whoms't for advice and feedback. 8/9/20: fixed mirrors distorsion and brakes overheating when different wheels are used 7/9/20: First version
Really great mod! Was it based off of automation though? The model looks automation-ish in some places
Let's troubleshoot. 1) bring up the beamng launcher and clear the cache 2) delete the mod (zip) from mods/repo 3) create an empty folder called however you like (e.g. S1203) in your documents mods/unpacked 4) drop the contents of the zip file inside this folder 5) launch the game and check
Nope, as the post says, model, materials and jbeams are mine. Did you find some bugs? I'm aware of some spiking in high-speed crashes, and I am out of ideas. Not even skilled modders determined how & why.
Very good! Im glad to see more EU vehicles in BeamNG.drive But i found a bug: turn signals (both front and rear) and front small lights have red light flare
Hm I'm not sure...I'm looking at my lights right now and the foglights are white, while turn signals are orange...will look into it further
