Almost finished changing the interior illumination in my Focus and I really like the way it turned out. Only things left to do are the radio (which will be replaced by a facelift Sony radio), the headlight switch and I have to find some polarizer film to invert the instrument cluster screen (to match the climate control screens).
Got the radio working again, installed a dash cam, cleaned the car... Felt good. Then the hornets moved in. It was a fierce battle. No one won. I need a new car.
This is boring but I checked my tire pressures. Going to go for a drive tonight which I haven't done in quite a while.
The best way to get hornets or wasps out of something is waiting until its cold and dark because they arent that active then. Then you can proceed to vacuum them out worked for me.
How naive... After 2 years, an engine swap (connecting rod bearing damage), new fenders, new hood and boot (rust) and a lot of other bigger and smaller things the car cumulated over +5000€ of reparing costs and more than +70h of work to keep this car running. Can I call this a restauration project? OT: Today I installed new spark plugs. Tomorrow the car goes to the safety inspection and emission test (in germany also known as TÜV).
Gave my lawn mower a thorough tune-up. It is a 2004(ish) Cub Cadet LT2042 riding lawn mower with a 17hp Kohler V-twin and a 42 inch blade deck. It has never run or cut very well since buying it used about 6 years ago. This spring it would barely run enough to move under its own power, much less cut grass. To get the engine tuned up I removed and disassembled the carburetor to clean it, replaced the fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, and lubricated all carburetor and governor linkages. To refresh the blade deck I sharpened the blades and replaced the PTO belt and tensioning spring. Now it is running and cutting better than it ever has since I've had it, but it's still kind of a piece of shit.
Today... well, this wasnt all done today, but im gonna put a list of all the things ive done to this heap 2004 Durango 4.7 Limited - Transfer case shift motor - Front ball joints - Drivers side hub bearing - Thermostat - After market intake for epic sounds - Exhaust system revamp (stock cats, cherry bomb vortex muffler) - Front bumper Tomorrow is junkyard run day. Gonna try to find a front air dam and possibly a new transfer case.
PlastiDipped the chrome part of my grille and also got a new air dam from the junkyard. Next mod is some black housing headlights
Went for a couple of little trips in the new arrival, making a mental list of what needs to be looked at and fixed, but happy with how it’s running so far.
Cheers, saw it for sale locally at a price too good to snap up. Some issues with it but the plan is to keep it running as nicely as possible, as stock as possible, since it’s so rare.
The bike came with new brake pads for rear, checked and they seemed to be very worn out. Left pad was worn to metal. Fortunately it hadn't eaten the disk much. Front ones have plenty of meat left. Tried doing the job with the wheel in place, but the caliper didn't quite fit to slide out. And surely it was much easier to work with without the wheel. Only need to remove one bolt to slide the mufflers out and a 46mm socket on an impact gun to take off the wheel. Other than that just need to change the cambelts for now.
shocks on my 82 F100.....one of them decided it wanted to be a.....(Grrr, can't say it on the forums) and my dear old dad painted the wheels
This actually happened earlier in the month but I got a GTI cluster programmed and installed. Also went and enabled some inactive features with VCDS such as convenience menu and functions, window controls with key and now adjustable duration for Coming/Leaving home Old one for reference
