I plan to buy a new computer (laptop) with following settings:
    Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700U
GPU: AMD Radeon RX Vega 10
    RAM: 16 GB DDR4 2400 MHz SO-DIMM
    Hard disk: 512 GB SSD
I would like if these would just enough to run the game on custom settings (with normal set lighting). It would be nice if got the answer in as shorter period as possible.
    Cheers, Youngtimer.

You definitely can, but if you mean maxed out settings when you say custom, then I don't really think you can do that. You can definitely run it with good settings tho

Yes, but it certainly won't take your breath away.

Hell, I've had Beam running on a Core 2 Duo with integrated graphics and 1 GB of RAM.

CPU is fine, but the lighting on normal might be quite heavy on the iGPU. Lighting quality is one of the heaviest graphical settings in Beam. But overall it should be fine.

When meant custom, I imagined few settings set to high and few to normal.
    Thanks for the answer.

Well, I guess you might have issues with the GPU-intensive stuff on normal, and you might have to drop some other stuff down to low, but it will be playable.

I checked these on UserBenchmark, and I got a gaming score of 19%. So not really a good gaming machine, but you can't always get what you want...

As for the CPU, maybe look for an Intel one. Won't be much better at gaming, but according to UB, it will be better at the everyday and work stuff.

If he got a cheap-ish laptop with an Intel CPU it would most likely come with an Intel iGPU which would be just a complete potato

I got an Intel laptop with the pretty decent MX130, and it had cost me all of 2599 PLN (~$700) back in June 2019.

What he's got here does not seem to be that cheap.

It’s not that cheap, but Vega 10 graphics are integrated into the CPU. It’s not a standalone GPU. It can do well, but it’s not amazing.

I mean, I did it with less RAM and integrated graphics.
