    I noticed that after the minor update v0.19.4 exhaust crackling sounds odd, not as it was before. Note that I only noticed this with Cherrier rally version. To describe the sound, it gets very repetitive when RPM starts going down.
    I cleared the cache, didn't change.
    I ran the game in safe mode, didn't change.
    Haven't tried reinstalling the game, which is currently not possible with my network.

    Anyone else having this?

    In 1.19.4, they changed the exhaust popping sound of the I4 to the correct one. Before that, it was using the Boxer 4 crackling sound.
    So, no. It's not a bug.

    Okay... too bad, because it doesn't sound that good anymore. It repeats the same sound over again with no variation.

    I mean did you listen to my video though? It sounds worse than the old pops, like a blown speaker almost. If this is the actual sound now, they should have an option to change it back because the old sound fit really well and was honestly my favorite part of the update....I actually wanted the sound on all the I4 rally cars and race cars
    --- Post updated ---
    Also I cant find any change log stating that they did that, so why did the sounds change?

    I've been improving the triggering recently, so you'll get something improved in the next update (not hotfix).

    I am having a weird backfire sound when I have been playing the game. It sounds very similar to when you upshift in a sequential or DCT car. I don't know if this is a part of the game or just a sound glitch? This problem is for most of my cars. Could someone please help?

    That is normal and not an issue.

    Especially when you add stuff like a turbo, the fuel/air mixture can either run lean or rich, which causes combustion in the exhaust pipe. An exhaust pipe with less restrictive cats and mufflers will make the afterfire more audible and even visible.

    BeamNG simulates this by:
    "instantAfterFireCoef":
    "sustainedAfterFireCoef":
    lines in the engine jbeam that determine how likely the exhaust will pop and burble respectively. Higher numbers leads to greater likelihood.

    In the exhaust jbeam, there is
    "afterFireAudioCoef":
    "afterFireVisualCoef":
    which control how likely and strongly the sound and flames are to appear.

    In addition, afterfire is more likely and stronger at higher RPMs, so an engine that may not pop at 7k rpm may do so at 13k.
