So I recently calculated the older beam cars would be worth, and it seems off. Burnside Special V8 Dual-Matic- org. price: $24,000 cost now: $230,000 Ibishu Miramar Mira-Matic- org. price: $8,500 cost now: $81,621 Ibishu Covet DX- org. price: $2,500 cost now: 24,006 This is very confusing
The prices are based on the MSRP of the vehicle for its time. Not its current value. As for your calculations, they won't be accurate. In the real world, prices for older cars go up (or down) based on availability (rarity). If a vehicle becomes rarer, or has special features no other cars do today, value of the car will go up (also taking into account the type of car, the manufacturer, etc.). Even though there's (somewhat) a storyline to some cars, there is not enough to depict the vehicles today prices. But it does not matter since it isn't based on today's value. Hope I made it clear enough.
The Burnside price is kinda realistic if you're talking about buying a fully restored one in current day. Kinda though.
Look at the post above yours. It explains it. But yes, if we were talking about money, he/she would be totally off.
This is besides the point but I never realized the Miramar was so expensive. That seems like an unreasonable price for a car like that.
That seems quite unreasonable If we are to believe IGCD and say that the Miramar is a 1964 Toyota Corona, the price is pretty wild, considering (according to my quick Google search), the '64 Corona does not have a trim that exceeds 2K Though the Miramar is a tad more "fancy" than a Corona, so this can be a bit off Edit: Toyota Corona ad from the 60s, showing the price tag of 1760 usd, just for the sake of it
It’s the modern day value on the used market, not the as-new price. It’s a system that dictates what things will cost in career mode, if I’m looking at it right. edit: cost not cosy
