    I don't see why everyone says there's no need for two Ultra 4 trucks. If nothing in the roster ever had overlap we wouldn't have 95% of the vehicle content we have. Also, imagine only having 1 vehicle per racing class in game... Doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

    That being said, as a racing class we are completely missing off road racing trucks of any description right now. Trial trucks, stadium/trophy/pre-runners, etc... Since we are getting such a heavily modified truck anyway, is there any chance we could see multiple adaptations of it? Like an ultra 4 and a class 8?

    Got some stuff! Hope it's new news, and not old news...
    First, I've seen these on Utah:
    20191213202831_1.jpg 20191213202839_1.jpg
    Looks to me like something for career, my guess is this is where your "garage" is, or where you can buy cars from the dealer (AJ auto?)

    Second thing: I found this file inside the WCUSA folders

    Code:
    //--- OBJECT WRITE BEGIN ---
    $ThisPrefab = new SimGroup() {
       canSave = "1";
       canSaveDynamicFields = "1";
          groupPosition = "-965.183960 -633.707825 106.866936";
       new BeamNGTrigger(prototype_p_01_wca_utah) {
          TriggerType = "Box";
          TriggerMode = "Center";
          TriggerTestType = "Race corners";
          tickPeriod = "100";
          debug = "0";
          ticking = "0";
          triggerColor = "255 5 255 50";
          defaultOnLeave = "0";
          position = "-892.387 -560.397 106.936";
          scale = "20.593256 20.593256 9.77509499";
          rotationMatrix = "-0.694891453 0.71911341 -0.000690533139 -0.719114006 -0.694891274 -5.82076609e-11 -0.000479846523 0.000496572931 0.999999762";
          mode = "Ignore";
          canSave = "1";
          canSaveDynamicFields = "1";
       };
    };
    //--- OBJECT WRITE END ---

    Now, going to coordinates -892.387 -560.397 106.936, turns out that it's right here:
    20200516014446_1.jpg
    So I tend to believe that we have a prototype of teleportation between maps, specifically WCUSA and Utah!

    The Utah parking lots were there since 1.18.3 or 4.

    It certainly looks like it!
    When traveling between maps, I wonder if any work is being done to optimize map loading times.
    That would help keep the immersion going without having to wait for a minute on a loading screen for WCUSA.

    At least the vehicles will spawn faster which is super nice :)

    I imagine having the game on anything other than an M.2 NVME SSD nowadays doesn't help with load times either (30 seconds to get into WCUSA)

    I have BeamNG on a 5000 rpm hard drive and wcusa loads in like 8 seconds.

    map loading isn't entirely about data storage speeds
    your other hardware like cpu and gpu also play a big part when it renders the map

    my steam library is on a slow hdd as well, and my loading times are pretty good

    I didn't mean to imply that my loading times were exactly 60 seconds long haha
    I have a Samsung 970 Evo and it takes 28 seconds for WCUSA.
    I'm just curious if any software optimizations could be employed to improve transitions between maps. (Though it's not at all necessary.)

    What do you do? Wax your computer? Also is your "250GB Boot Drive" your hard drive? Why don't you put the game and your operating system on your "3TB SSD"?

    No doubt. I think most of the loading time is moving all the texture files and other graphical assets to your GPU's VRAM.

    Regardless the load times for the maps are fine.
    Since the development team has been working on optimizing vehicle spawning—I was wondering if similar improvements could be done to boost the load times of the environments as well, or if that is too much trouble for what it's worth.

    yeah the hard drive is my boot drive. beamng.drive is on there because i clicked it by accident when i installed it and i don't feel like transferring files.

    also windows is on there because i don't care how long it takes to start. its only a few seconds anyways.

    gif of an H series by Nade. the noise on it is either some sort of new postFX, or it's been deliberately added to conceal details.
    EDIT: wait, didn't gifs not previously autoplay on here? maybe he's just showing off a forum software update.

    It’s more than likely just from compression

    Why would they make a prerunner if there is no Baja truck?
    I don't think anyone knows what a prerunner ACTUALLY IS.

    Maybe because they are fun to drive and the game is called "drive"

    Just looked up what it was. It doesn’t make sense, I agree. I mean more of a baja truck.

    Also, it seems like they aren’t modified as severely as Baja trucks. I would say it actually probably would be a prerunner, as I doubt the devs would remake a tube frame, a plastic body, etc. With a prerunner you can chuck some offroady bits on nigh on any truck and you have a prerunner, while the same can’t be said about a full fledged baja truck.

    A prerunner would make sense because a prerunner doesn't require a dedicated chassis and could reuse some of the components from the D-series.

    Also I don't see why you can't just make a Baja/prerunner simply by just editing the suspension and tires a bit.

    You don't really have a strong point there. Remember when we had the T series semi but no trailer? It's like that. If you are going to have one, you need to have the other!

    After looking it up, you do have a point about the prerunner. It'd be a little like having a pace car, but no race cars (not a direct comparison, of course). But as others have mentioned, the devs are unlikely to build a whole new, purpose-built vehicle, and having an awkward prerunner with no corresponding baja vehicles is to my mind better than having neither.

    Also, the T-series was always nice to have around. Not a truly purposeful vehicle prior to the trailers, but still good for destruction, roleplay, and a functional example for any modders making heavy vehicles.
