Thats probably the last resort then my moms gonna be mad because all her game progress will be lost then too
https://winworldpc.com/library/operating-systems https://winworldpc.com/product/microsoft-bob You can get basically any version of Windows through 2000 here. (I still think 2000 is the best version of Windows, closely followed by NT 3.51!)
Windows 2000 (aka NT 5.0) is the entire reason that XP (aka NT 5.1) was successful, as it was built off of it. That is what killed off the DOS-based versions of Windows basically, which is a very good thing. What do you think of NT 4 though?
I would rather eat multiple bees than use Windows NT 4. It's just NT 3.51 with Windows 95's bland UI bolted on top for no reason.
Well, under the hood, they're completely different. Windows 95 was a DOS shell trying to be an operating system, whereas NT was a much more modern system with only limited DOS compatibility (and without all the cool games!), meant for high-end workstations and servers. As far as the average joe user was concerned, though, NT 4 was essentially just a worse version of Windows 95. Used more RAM, didn't run DOS programs right, and so on.
It was more modern because it didn't rely on DOS to run, as Windows 95 did. 95 was more of a DOS application than an operating system... (Yes, NT 4 had solitaire. I was referring to games like Duke Nukem 3D, which were not compatible with NT 4.)
Today, I started up my PC after not using it for a few days, and began to hear a constant clicking noise coming from my external hard drive (which sits right on top of the tower). Immediately fearing the worst, I began Googling solutions, and tried like three different diagnostic programs. All of them said everything was fine, and several forums said "yeah Western Digital drives are just noisy" (which I can attest, but I'd never heard this particular noise before). After literal minutes of agonizing stress, I decided to get a closer look at it—which is when I realized the noise was not coming from the drive, but rather the motor on my old desk fan which happened to be right next to it. Needless to say, several facepalms happened immediately following this revelation. Does anyone know if Honeywell makes testing/diagnostics programs for their fans? /s
can attest to this, my old honeywell fan had this same clicking for about a month. i just drowned it out until it literally burst into flames after putting it on high for the first time since the sound started happening. my house burned down safe to say i wont be buying Honeywell again. and to answer your question, no they dont. /s
I cannot recommend Honeywell fans. Although mine has never ignited or clicked, it sounds like I have a jet engine sitting on top of my desk. I use an older Vornado fan that's much quieter.
i don't even have space for a desk fan, neither will i ever get one (windows exist) that's something scary though, you turn your fan on high, it starts making a worrying noise, and then it bursts into flames
I do, but the temperature in my room fluctuates so much that it's nice to have a fan. Windows aren't an awesome option for me given my pollen allergies.
Seems the "Informative" button was removed while I was away doing other things Still in lockdown, played some BeamNG Drive for a while, but going back to Farming Simulator 19 I have just been doing the farming more and more recently, its weird but I kinda enjoy doing it, its relaxing when you have to do so much management, its kinda fun and I STILL have to do that 25 laps of the 14.1km Spa circuit too But as for other matters been on twitch a lot recently and finding a load of drivers from real work racing on there, thats been loads of fun and I kinda enjoy watching it because it gives new light to what some of the drivers are up to and stuff, I guess it goes with the territory and stuff I suppose... Finally managed to get on Zoom and doing quizzes with the family, I have created a 50 question quiz which is um.....rather challenging but its things I enjoy and I am gonna require to redo some of the questions yet again, I have gotta fix a few of them still....urrgh.... as for Lockdown itself, eh its another day in the life for me and I am use to it I suppose....
