Have you ever considered doing a map for cars? Or at least finishing the windy asphalt road so it's full circle, because what's already here is one of the best pieces of road I've had the pleasure of driving on in this game. It really reminded me of touge races straight from Initial D and drift competitions of NFS Carbon aka my childhood game. I need moar nostalgia dose. Oh, and yeah, the railroad is nice as well, I'm looking forward to seeing the finished state.
WOW this map is awesome! Extremely fun to just cruise around in, taking in the scenery, even if it's unfinished. I was thinking, this would actually be an amazing map for cars, too, if you just converted the railway and ballast to a big, wide road. It's so smooth, with plenty of places to open it up and go fast, but plenty of fairly tight turns. It could actually be quite the fun challenge to navigate some of those switchbacks. And there's so much track too, I'd spend hours cruising around. Now that I'm typing this, I want a road version even more. Maybe a consideration further in the future?
can you maybe add some preset boxcars in behind the locomotive? its pretty hard for me to put em on and whenever i open world editer my computer crashes.
@BeamDrifter I'd be interested in seeing how you made the switch work, or possibly using it in my up-and-coming city map, would that be alright? Full credit will be given. If it's something I can use (when I look into it), I will give full credit and several months beta-download-access to the map. Admittedly, it does look beautiful, and is one of the more interesting maps I've seen here on the forums. The idea of trains going downhill fast - which is fraught with peril to begin with - is something that lends itself well to a physics engine for car crashing. Now we can test-crash trains, too. Now where's that destruct-able gas station mod? Lots of nice custom model work there, too. --Regardless of your decision, still looks awesome!
For me it is very OK, we have a complete double track, even with changes of track, where excellent disasters are made very similar to real life, it is even great when the machine derails in the frogs, and in the needles .... it's simply amazing .... Even if it's unfinished, I give you 100/100 .... Only two suggestions: 01: Make the needles curved, so that the machine enters softer at more speed. 02: Make Modular tracks, especially track changes, such as "MRK Track Kit" so that Modders can use them.
Updated the 1st post. So the map is now finally updated. The locomotive spawning automatically thing broke and the switches don't work anymore so they aren't even included. I'll try to fix those when I have time. The wide mountain road meant for drifting isn't actually connected to any of the roads yet but you can get there with free camera (Shift+C) and teleport (F7) Changelog Changed road textures Added more roads Added track speed limit signs Added 1 tunnel Added a small town next to the station
Latest version seems to have a few material issues, I've tried clearing cache and the like but no luck
The road additions are amazing! So much fun to drift on. 2 things though. 1. There are two trees that hangover the road that will stop you like a wall. 2. Would it be possible to get a road over the train track? Or replace track for road etc.? Be a ton of fun to drift that too.
Thanks for the update. FYI there's something invisible blocking the main track now (right side, going down from the station). Every time my locomotive passes by something makes the fuel tank rupture.
