To be honest, I didn't see French design cues when the first screenshots dropped, and thought it was too close to a 2020 Focus. But after seeing it in game in 3D, I keep getting 308 vibes at the back, DS on the side and Renault/DS at the front. The screen dashboard above a square wheel, is really PSA, I really dig it.
Also, I've noticed that the turn signal's sound is from PSA isn't it?

Well obviously, because the Vivace is a smaller car, the ETK is a midsize wagon.

I would really like to see a modern supercar and a new body style 3/4 ton pick up truck added to the game next.

what this thing needs is the option to remove the turbocharger and a 1.3 diesel and 1.0 petrol

even better, 0.8 daewoo matiz engine

There does need to be a more basic one. In my opinion it should keep the same wheels as the current base model but it needs to lose the digital drivers display and the big screen infotainment system, aswell as the xenon LED lights it has on the front and the fancy LED style taillights because currently it does not feel basic enough as it is still keeping all these things

see the basic model is quite basic and I do agree. there needs to be one for maybe an Indian market and/or middle eastern market.

very stripped down, no optional extras. maybe like the hirochi start mod. there also needs to be analog dials on the dash

Crank up all the engine parts to stage 3 and I get 220+ but then it starts to overheat so that's as far as I got.

been driving the vivace now for quite a bit, and the handling just impresses me all the time, to me this is the best handling car in BeamNG thus far...

True, it's like it's on rails. Modern cars just handle ridiculously well, even the cheapest economy box you can buy today will easily out-handle many sports cars from the past.

There is already and mod for that....

In reality, there is little benefit in such a configuration.... it will have less power while consuming significantly more fuel.

A non charged 1.0 3 Cylinder petrol will require ludicrous revs for even the most modest of power outputs, ruining any and all fuel economy advantages it might have in theory. From a technological standpoint it also makes little sense..... engines are mass produced for lowest cost per unit and so this 3 cylinder would have the same direct injection technology but not the turbo.... it just doesnt make much sense... why not go all the way?

There is also the issue with fleet fuel consumption... you really dont want to have a lousy "sucker" engine hurting you there when you need that fleet wide average and actually want to sell some higher performance cars as well.

I think in reality, removing the turbo charger will require so significant changes to engine software and vehicle configuration that it wont be worth it. We are speaking about the lowest possible offering.... that is not a configuration where the manufacturer wants as much as lift a finger. That is not a configuration you want to write an additional engine software for. You also dont want direct injection for it.....

What you want is an entirely different engine..... and that option will most likely loose the cost argument against the more complex - but million times produced - direct injected turbo charged engine.

You can also incredible easy detune the turbo engine to any value you want.... while sitll having superior performance and fuel economy.

As for the diesel.... it has even more power issues without a turbo..... there is a reason why non turbo diesels have been dead for decades in cars now.

The Matiz is an very very small car..... it is hard to imagine such an engine in a full grown modern compact of 2020.

Non Turbo engine in cars have existed because they are cheaper to manufacture and because fuel economy wasnt a major concern, neither was lack of performance in comparsion to fuel consumption.

I disagree. For similar reasons as above. The digital driver display mass produced is probably cheaper than going into the effort of having manual gauges for just one - dirt cheap - configuration. Different lights would again require a redesign as it was designed with LEDs in mind. You need to design an entirely new lamp and lamp chassis connector for it.... or you can use the million times made LED stripes that by economy of scale are probably cheaper.

Basic configurations are usually made cheaper by taking away things..... not by replacing them with something less mass produced that requires more effort and redesign and may end up being more costly.

The infotainment screen could be removed, that would possible make it cheaper. But not the driver display imho... the required redesign and alternative technical solutions would imho be far more expensive than simple keeping it.

See above.... having analog dials for just one single configuration would be more expensive than fititng just another digital driver display. In fact, I could imagine that displays are cheaper than gauges anyway. Think about it..... it is basically just a screen mass produced hundred millions of times for other cars and a crap ton of other things. It isnt expensive..... what is expensive is having custom gauges and their technical foundation in a low volume of cheap as hell car config.

Since the car IS a computer anyway.... why bother with an digital to analog converter when all you need is a dirt cheap screen?

The Vivace is a 2020 car. It is supposed to stay arround for a while and I just dont a manufacturer looking this much backwards.

I know the Cherrier is loaded with customisation options so far, BUT, could it maybe get 2 more? Mainly, what I'd love to see is an automatic & CVT transmission. It feels like those are the things is lacks the most so far, especially seeing the latest Honda crossover has a CVT by default, which would suit the Tograc rather well :)

I know that we can't compare it to the real brands but Renault currently uses a 1.0 engine (called SCe in NA version), I don't know how much fuel it uses but it has some uses I guess. So it wouldn't be bad idea at all. Maybe 1.2 engine could have a NA/base version (around 75-90 HP) as well, plus, gauges still exist. I hope you get what I mean.

Also I wish we could remove roof rails, what's the point of it in a hatchback? It looks fine at the Tograc though.

I'm enjoing this bargain basement spec talk :D
Renault only uses that engine in the Clio, whereas the Vivace is in the same class as the Megane. Again, the majority (if not all) of the cars in this segment use small-capacity turbocharged engines, so there's no point in adding a non-turbo version, even less so in a 2020 model year car that's meant to keep up with the latest trends, if not even set any.
As far as the gauges go, IRL there would be no point to spend the money to develop a separate set of gauges, gauge housing and new mounting points just for the basic version, which will probably not be the bestseller of the bunch anyway (as ARES IV explained) - assuming that Cherrier would be a real brand with profits in sight, there's no reason why they would spend money developing that either.
I hate to pull the 'new car' card again, but the future is all displays. The likes of VW and Peugeot have recently started ditching classic dials for them, and there'll be less and less brands opting for gauges - even in the basic versions - in the future.
I really think the 110s are the ideal basic spec versions of the FCV - keep 'em that way :D

On a side note, why don't modern cars (800, K, Sunburst, SBR4, Cherrier FCV) come with power steering as standard? I always have to go to the parts selector to put them in...
