what steering wheel should i get?

i have bought two cheep ones in the past but they both came broke ):
does anyone know of fairly cheep 60-120$ wheels?

 

Used Logitech G25 or G27

I bought an used G25 for around 120 euros a few years ago (sadly had to sell it I definitely want to get one or a G27 again sometime) It was a great wheel, definitely recommend getting one. The G27 is pretty much the same wheel as the G25 but I believe it just has more buttons on the wheel itself.

I've also heard that the Logitech Driving Force GT is a great wheel and it's even cheaper, however it only comes with 2 pedals and a sequential shifter. If that doesn't bother you then you can definitely go for that, however I wanted a wheel with 3 pedals and a H-shifter so I opted for a G25.

If it doesn't bother you to have only 2 pedals, I strongly recommend you to buy a driving force gt, I paid it 135€ 5 years ago, so you will probably found one under 100€. Mine is still almost in a perfect state even after 5 years of not so gentle use. The only problem I had is the sequential gearbox who broke his screw path, and can be put off the wheel if i pull vertically on it but that's not really a problem. The FFB is exactly the same as a G29 and it works perfectly without any problem. The pedals are really quite but that's not that bad comparing to the G29 which cannot been used with a roller seat without being pushed when braking because the pedals springs are made out of concrete...

 

i recomend a G27, i love mine but keep in mind these things:
-the cable between the shifter is very fragile and can deteriorate easily, i've gone throught 2 shifters until i left it alone with it's cable loose, that solved the problem.
-the steering wheel position sensor is quite fragile, it's the head bolts of this Northstar, so it's a given that it brakes. it's not that easy to put in a new one, especially if you don't work with these thing often. look for a refurbished one or get a spare optical encoder, not in plastic like the original one (seriously logitech...).
- make sure that the leather on the wheel istelf isn't deteriorated, it gets very uncomfortable. i made this error and it arrived all chewed up because the texture is so irregular that it is almost impossible to see in a picture. i fitted some new, and of better quality than the original, mostly thanks to my retired seamstress grandma, i alone couldn't do it.
-Make sure that it comes with a power brick. The PSU itself is still used today in the g920s and g29s but the adaptor (sealed to the supply) that goes from the brick itsel to under the wheel is specific to this wheel.
that's all, apart from these little issues (i'm sure present also in the other logitech wheels), it's a grat wheel if you want to buy one.

 

Get a G27, they are bulletproof. Sure they are old, but I have yet seen a better wheel for the price. I bought one used 5 years ago, and it still works. Nothing have breaked on it, other than the clamp thing is a little glitchy at times but still works. I don't know how people manage to break them, maybe I don't drive hard enough(?)
Getting a wheel with a clutch, is so much worth it.
Also, since the G27 is so popular, there's a lot of tutorials and ready made mods/upgrades for it.
For example, I have replaced the shiftknob with a real life one and it cost me around 5 dollars and 5 minutes of my time.
Easy to find parts on ebay too if something should break.

If you don't want Logitech, I think the Thrustmaster T150 should fit in your budget. Altough the only downside with it is that it has just 2 pedals

I would avoid Thrustmaster. I have had two of their wheels and they have broken within 1-3 years. This might just be my luck but idk. No experience with Logitech so I don't know what a good quality is in compairison to Thrustmaster.
