ok so i got the steering wheel turning in beamng, so the previous version of this forum is solved, just thought i would recycle the thread instead of spamming the forums page. anyway, like the title says i am having trouble in getting the steering wheel to face the way i want it to face. can anyone help me with this?
I think this is all you need Code: "props": [ ["func", "mesh", "idRef:", "idX:", "idY:", "baseRotation", "rotation", "translation", "min", "max", "offset", "multiplier"] //steering wheel ["steering", "R20_SteeringWheel", "ct1r","ct1l","ct2r", {"x":105, "y":0, "z":0}, {"x":0, "y":1, "z":0}, {"x":0, "y":0, "z":0}, -1000, 1000, 0, 1], ], From memory it has to be named "steering", the "R20_SteeringWheel" bit is the name of your 3d model object. The first xyz rotation is how the wheel is rotated by default, then the second one is the direction the wheel should rotate when steering is turned.
Check the origin of your steering wheel. The origin of most of the vehicle parts is supposed to be at the scene's origin whereas for props is supposed to be at its pivot.
ok so i figured it out but with one problem. How do i get the steering wheel to not be facing the floor
