Update Speculation thread

I also hope fot the Vivace to have this kind of detail, high-poly cables, high resolution textures... There are some of us that like this kind of detail so it will be a nice addition
If not by default at least you devs could make UHD textures for us to download and replace if we want.

 

I was poking around in the game files, and I found a mesh file called "sunburst_decals.dae."
upon opening it, you see these decals for the front bumper, trunk, and doors.

what I find particularly odd is that this is the way the police/taxi/etc. liveries were done back in the 0.3/0.4 days, and became redundant since skin support became available. I tried putting them in-game, but nothing came up. any ideas as to what they could be?

 

So I was lurching around in the games lua files seeing if I can make a tire thermal system but it appeared that the devs beat me to it.


It looks to be pretty simple only increasing the grip when the temperature raises. This is found in (Beamng/lua/vehicle/wheels.LUA). I'll try to use this as a template. No promises.

 

NDX just posted this: the steel wheels on the H15 appear to be chrome, instead of white.

 

That's cool. That might be a sign that the H-series is getting remastered.

Those are probably just left from the old police skin from pre-0.4.3.0 and just haven't been removed.

I wonder if we could get lucky enough to see the update this Friday the 20th. Just a speculation. I mean, we've had quite a few teasers recently, although nothing major such as showcases videos of map overhauls or more evidence of the Gavril revamps, but...

 

The update could be earlier as the updates don't have to be released on a friday for example 0.18 was released on a monday

Probably not, It's incredibly unlikely that they'd push out an update on a weekend due to the fact that they do not work on weekends, in the case of a major problem occurring with the update.

 

If the update goes live this Friday, we'll see a map or vehicle trailer no later than Wednesday, I would expect.
