Does anyone else on here hate fat shaming? I certainly do. Look, I'm not saying you should sit around all day and eat candy. It's great to get exercise. You should also brush your teeth and take basic care of your body. However, fat shaming is stupid and cruel. Some people can't control their weight. Just because somebody is a bit "overweight" and isn't skinny and doesn't have 6 pack abs doesn't mean you should shame them for that.

I'm sure there are plenty of healthy "fat" people and I'm also sure there unhealthy skinny people. I'm not bashing skinny people or people with 6 pack abs. I just don't think it's that big of a deal if you're somewhat "overweight". I absolutely hate weight loss commercials. In my opinion, they are stupid propaganda BS. I am probably a little bit "overweight" in real life, but I walk outside and I don't sit around all day every day and eat candy. However, it's not the end of the world if you're "overweight".

I fricking hate fat shaming. There are problems that can come to your body because you are "fat" and some people can't walk because they are too "overweight". However, people should not be shamed or bullied because they weigh 250 to 300 pounds or so. There are people out there that would probably be more healthy if they lost weight, but I don't want people to be pressured by ignorant jerks into losing weight.

Heck, even the people who eat candy or weight a bunch and can't walk shouldn't be pressured into loosing a bunch weight. The people who can't walk because of their weight shouldn't be forced to lose weight until they're skinny. They should just try their hardest to lose just enough weight so that way they can walk can function in society. They can still be "fat". They should just try to take good care of their bodies. It doesn't matter whether they're "overweight" or not.

    Anyways, end of rant.
That thread is most likely gone. It gave me an error that this thread can't be found when I clicked on the link.
So, you don't like crash comps? I am curious as to why.

By the way, to be honest, I don't really care for BeamNG gaming videos at all. I still love BeamNG.Drive though =D

I just got it to scan the multiboot memory map, which is a helpful tool provided by compliant bootloaders (required by GenOS) that lets you easily find usable memory.

GenOS will place the initial kernel heap in low memory - about 1 MB to start. The "huge page pool" is a list of available 3 MB regions of memory, used to set up paging later.

    Update: oh god oh fuck

They constantly flood the BeamNG section on YouTube, which is why I don't like them. They are very repetitive, as it is basically the same concept over and over.

WhyBeAre is one of the best mod reviewers imo because he likes to describe specific functions of mods and point out small easter eggs. For me, I would just end up watching some youtubers who make automation videos where they build a car and then export to Beam like AutoFlux. I also like Shinyodd's "twitch chat builds" series, where Beam is used in some videos.

Where did you learn to write kernel code and compile it? Also, I'm assuming this is booting with legacy/MBR and not (U)EFI, as an i386 target would make no sense otherwise.

wiki.osdev.org great site, give it a look. That will teach you how to build an i686 cross compiler to start out. The rest, I pretty much figured out myself.
    Also yes, legacy/MBR for now

Anyway, so far I have it allocating a Global Descriptor Table and resetting GDTR (and flushing segment registers) successfully. From here, we can implement interrupts.

Update: we have now gotten to the point where we can begin to implement abstract device drivers

What you are seeing is the default console getting allocated, then written to through a standard interface (it looks kind of like a printer right now).

I watched like maybe 1 or 2 videos from her and I didn't care for them.

By the way, Here's 2 questions for you.

    1. Have you heard of a grindcore band called Napalm Death?
    2. Have you heard Eternal Mystery yet or no?

    Okay then.

To answer 1: Learn to drive and graduate high school.
To answer 2: I don't know for sure, but 0.7 mm sounds cool =)

Mind if I chime in on question 2?

0.7mm lead is generally ideal for most applications as it is a similar width to most ballpoint pens and therefore probably feels better.
0.5mm is more common for mechanical pencils, and is often better for technical drawing as opposed to 0.7mm.

Really depends on what you're going to be using the pencil for in the end. But 0.7mm is generally more common, and is the one I generally find myself using day-to-day.

Ah, yes. Nothing like massive and quick mood swings to really put some interest in the day.

    Hahaha, I fucking hate myself.
