Doubt that this will 100% happen, but I would love to see a Megane RS-style trim for the Vivace, or just something that gives off hot hatch vibes.
It’s yet another unibody 80s car, just like the LeGran, Pessima, and ETK, which is probably why it’s ended up being the last car on the original list. At least it’s a full-size coupe—but were there any full-size front-wheel-drive unibody coupes in the 80s? I can’t think of any.
I've already made peace with it. I get it, they're concepts that didn't survive the concept stage. It hurts, but I accept that now. Am I not allowed to be disappointed that great ideas for BeamNG cars will never come to pass? I didn't say anything to any of you, so just drop it. I don't want any trouble.
What would be the difference between that and the Vivace S? Upon further inspection, Gabe actually only mentioned the V6, not the i4... Still... What's wrong with the ETK? The original Wendover proposal was analogous to the '87 Bonneville. Both would be a fullsize 4 door transverse FWD 3.6L V6. Now that the Wendover is a 2 door it's analogous to the '88 Regal, which had a wider variety of V6 engines but is, as far as we are concerned, otherwise a direct counterpart. IMO, and I know I mention this a lot but I strongly believe it, the Wendover needs a transverse V8 and slightly bulkier styling (I have an inexplicable adoration for ninth gen Thunderbirds and would love to see a little of that styling language make it in)
You vocally complained about the announcement, claimed the mods were trying to “silence” you, then tried to claim the cars weren’t really cancelled because Gabester made a few posts about them a decade ago. I think that’s slightly more than just “being disappointed.” I misspoke—the ETK is RWD. It’s still a midsize unibody sedan from the 80s like the LeGran and Pessima. There’s nothing “wrong” with it, per se, but it isn’t exactly unique among the BeamNG lineup. The Regal was a midsize.
I've been contemplating the possibility of a transverse V8 in the wendover. considering FWD v8s were a thing at the time, and the wendover is a fiar bit bigger, it would make sense for it to have one. a FWD drag config would also be interesting.
It was a fat midsized though, AFAIK. Wheelbase was right in between the gen 8 Bonneville and gen 9 Thunderbird.
I know my wording was strong, and that's entirely my fault. I should've toned it down a bit and not say he was "silencing" me, but that's what happens when people get emotional. There's nothing more to it. I can't say its anything else other than disappointment. If I did say there was more to it, I'd be lying. And that still seems like the case to me. It's not entirely because he made posts, but also that gabester did say that he was going to make them, that he was going to model them. He worded it in ways that suggested that they were indeed planned. That's where a lot of this comes from. I'm now wondering why did he even mention them to begin with, if they weren't ever going to make it past the concept stage. That's how you build a foundation for false hope.
(off Topic) I see that there was talk of The LIST and this thread wasn't locked or nuked into oblivion, we avoided that, so all is good. (on Topic) Wendover also deserves a Diesel. low torque, low power garbage diesel that smokes more than Willie Nelson and Snoop Dogg combined.
Why not? The more content the better. Many American cars were available with diesel engines in the 1980s, so it's not that crazy of an idea. If the Wendover gets a diesel, then the LeGran and Moonhawk should get one too.
