Hey y'all! I know I said it probably would be a while before I worked on the Kashira again, but I'm not exactly known for sticking to my plans... In all honesty, I've just felt really burned-out with school and life and things over the past few months, and haven't found much time or motivation to work on any mods. I did a bit of work on the Aria, and a bit of work on some other things, but I really just feel like working on something familiar at the moment. And the Kashira is desperately in need of an update anyways. (;>.<) I've been discussing with @Car_Killer, and we have a lot of very cool things planned for the Kashira, including the long-awaited JDM update in collaboration with @Ezo. But, before adding even more content to the chaotic mess that is this mod, I want to take the time to properly fix some of its worst bugs and shortcomings. So first things first, I'm finally fixing all the broken skin UVs on all the "custom" parts. Before: After: In addition, I'm redoing and improving the tuning of several of the existing configurations to make them better to drive. In the case of the hillclimb config especially, the current tuning with 2500hp is absolutely outrageous. I'd like it to be a bit more of an actual hillclimb car than a minivan-speed-record car... I'm also working on updating all the tuneable parts to the system the latest version of the game uses. It's the same idea, just more organized. And (if I do it right) all existing configs should be backwards-compatible. So... yeah! As per usual, me and @Car_Killer will keep y'all posted on progress as it occurs. And if you have any feedback or suggestions, let us know! :3
The lights of this van are just weird to look at. In game, at least. They look very fake and I feel like the rear lights just need some redesign or something. The headlights are fine to be honest, but the rear of the car is what you see the most, so the taillights are definitely noticeable and I prefer the original Kashira to be honest just because of the taillights. No hate, I love the mod but yeah
Gen 1 and Gen 2 are both available, so if you like the first version then install that one. It's obvious to see what they mean by Gen 1 and Gen 2. It's like how there are two body styles for the Chevy S-10. First gen S-10 is a box body where the 2nd Gen S-10 got more rounded and a refresh in it's design in during the 90's. Same thing here with the Gen 1 Kashira and Gen 2 Kashira. So I see nothing wrong with the taillights seeing as this was pretty common taillight design with JDM vehicles during the 90's and even up into the 2000's, even a few US brand vehicles and some European vehicles had similar taillights.
I meant that they look fake. There's nothing wrong with the design, but its quite literally a few solid colors. Looks not like actual taillights, but just a concept drawing. But they have their own sprites when you brake and stuff so honestly they just need some transparency or something along the lines of that, as there is not much of a difference between the taillights lit up, and when they're not, just the sprites as the indicator of when they are lit up. Hence why it looks fake, and just doesn't match the rest of the car in terms of visual real-ness.

Gen 3 is not coming anytime soon We want to focus on other mods too, but Kashira update is coming really soon™. Hey there, after a while. When @Re:Z_IA is working on really important things, such as fixing uvs and configs, I was working on many additions for car. I've focused on matching all game changes, few updates came since latest Kashira update after all . That's small list of stuff I added: - gearbox whine - switched to materials.json - tweaked all materials to match official cars standards - fixed materials issues and more. After that I started working on new addons targeting upcoming JDM variant of car. First small addition is wind deflector. I made two variants of them. transparent and body colored. Some of you suggested me adding some parts for roof rack so I added wood crate and engine block. Everyone needs spare engine Also @Ezo was working on some JDM addons. He made special version of turbo and intercooler for GTI-R version of Kashira (thanks man!) Since that JDM is coming soon, I wanted to add some cute and funny addons for car. Kurisu Makise and Upa from Steins;Gate series Upa attached to bumper matching Steins;Gate Itasha (JDM config is coming soon) Hatsune Miku on bumper and dashboard for Miku Itasha And more addons for interior So I mentioned configs right? A lot of new stuff is coming in next update. I can show you only few of them for now, we are working hard on JDM variant. Thanks to Rezia work I'm not longer limited to use only one type of bumpers and hoods. Configs with skins will have much more variety now. USDM "The Mad One" on the left and EU "Off-road Racer" on the right with Turbo Diesel engine and big wheels Both EU configs made by different people. Blue beautiful handmade Itasha made by Hoshiyuu, and Offroad crazy config by @Ai'Torror As you mentioned that, I've remade lights textures, I think they are much more realistic than previous ones. Improved texture and new normal map You might ask how was possible to add that amount of configs and variants. I've splitted car into three different vehicles. None of files are duplicated. We used "common" folder to keep all needed files. So now, eu and us configs are not messed together, but available from different vehicle selector slots. Obviously you are able to mix all parts between all of variants. WIP That's everything for now. Me and @Re:Z_IA will keep you updated about new stuff. CK
This sounds most promising..... thank you. I especially like that you do 3 different base configs based on market..... this is really really cool.
