No built in updater

I've been browsing different threads and forums, and there are many people saying that the updater is in the main directory. I have spent hours searching, and the only thing I can find is a update.txt file. Could this be a problem with the installation?

 

Try looking for update.exe.old

It's not as easy to find as windows hides the BeamNG icon and so it just looks like a random dll

If it doesn't work I'll take a screencap and point it out, I'm sure you have it, you seem to have the full alpha

 

There is an update.exe.old, however, when I double click it nothing happens.

 

Rename it to update.exe and double click it, will work. Promise.

I was wrong. I got the same error as last time and I can't seem to find a fix.
