1. East Coast 2. Utah 3. Grid Map 4. Small Island 5. Jungle Rock Island 6. Italy 7. Hirochi Raceway 8. Port 9. Industrial Site 10. Automation Test Track 11. ETK Driver Experience Centre 12. Cliff 13. West Coast
I think West Coast USA has some issues. I would put it higher, but I still think it has issues and I think it's starting to age. That said, I still consider it a good map.
1. Italy, its just so realistic and beautiful 2. Utah, a extreme nice map for crusing and playing with Traffic 3. West Coast USA, realistic City with a big nice Race Track and few Suburbs 4. ETK Expericense Center, nice that there is a small part of Germany, in BeamNG and really nice for Screenshots, 5. The good old Gridmap, the best Map for testing and crashing Vehicles My Top 5
I can't create an objective list, as it very much depends on circumstance. I can, however, split maps into categories and rank them within those categories. Freeroam maps: Italy, because it's the only map that feels actually big. West Coast, because what it loses in scale it makes up for in variety. It's also the only map with a modern large city section. Utah, though that could change once I've got used to the updates some more. East Coast, which is a good map, but somewhat lacks factors that would make me choose it over other maps. JRI, which has great roads but desperately needs updating. Part-freeroam maps (bits of map around a large focal element like a racecourse): Hirochi Raceway, for the variety present, and the variable paths on the racetrack itself. Automation Test Track, which has more outside the track, but the track itself is slightly less interesting. Derby Arenas, as I'm not into derbies and therefore don't see it a lot. ETK EC, which is just too small. Smaller maps: Industrial Site, which is surprisingly fun. Port is a bit redundant, but is still usable. Small Island is too empty for me personally, I can have similar experiences on other maps. Pure testing maps: Gridmap, which is perfect for crazy vehicle testing. Grid, Small, Pure, for prop testing and the world editor. Cliff, which is a very single-purpose map
I totally agree with your thoughts on Italy. It's the one map that actually feels big in BeamNG.Drive. As for Industrial Site. I do like it, but I do think that it needs an update relatively soon. By the way, I'm really into Utah USA right now. Like I said earlier, my thoughts on maps can vary on certain days. Also, does anyone else think that the old lighting on East Coast USA looks better then the new lighting? I'm still into Utah USA. The remaster really helped improve the map
