    Hy, my first post here.

My name is Andreas, I'm a crashtest engineer from Germany.

My boys (9+11) loves it to play BeamNg and myself also. I shows it to my colleagues from the crashtest simulation and they are impressed how easy to adjust and close to their simulation it is.
I had to laugh, as I saw the IIHS crashlab again.

We mostly play, editing of landscape or cars we hadn't tried jet.

My favouirte car for driving is the ETK 800, the most beautyfull car modern is the SBR4 and all 50's 60' US Cars.

Now my question, is a cut view like this possible?

Additional here my minor complaints in comparision to our crashtest and real life crash analysis:

-the cars are in frontcrash 50-65 km/h a litle bit to good
-the door lock opens sometime at to weak forces
-the friction on gras/earth ist to weak
-the A-pilar at convertibles is to stiff
    -wheels permeate the strukture
-the front doors misses a side impact beam

I gues, that most of this is easy to adjust if you are trained in modeling, but I'm not.

I'm wondering, if BeamNG could be a tool for accident reconstruction?

    Best Regards Andreas

Hi Andreas, thanks for taking interest in our simulator!

We don't currently have support for cutaway views. Because the visual model is not made from solids or closed shells it would be difficult to get the same effect as in your example. However you can move the camera freely by pressing F8 and then using the mouse and WASD keys to move around or through the vehicle. You can also enable the "Relative" camera in the Options > Camera menu, which allows you to move the camera to any fixed position relative to the vehicle, using the same controls. Another possibility is to render only specific parts of the car, by pressing the "eye" icons beside the parts in the Vehicle Customization menu.

About the accuracy of the deformation, it is an area of ongoing improvement. We welcome feedback! Screenshots or videos from users can help us fix problems. Sometimes we simply missed a detail, but other times we have to choose how to balance trade-offs and do the best we can. Realism is our ultimate goal, but still, this simulation has to run in real time with multiple vehicles at once!

We've thought about using our platform for accident investigation. The workflow might be a bit different. Instead of hand rigging the vehicles to follow a path that looks believable and matches up with evidence, the re-constructor could recreate and record the driver actions and timing that caused the crash, and let the physics play out to create the scene. It might be tricky to do but the end result could be worth it when it matches up with evidence and has a solid physics simulation behind it.

Just so you know, (I’m pretty sure you’re referring to the ETK K-Series) the ETK K-Series is actually a hardtop coupé. The game does not contain any convertibles as of now, however they could be added to the game at some point.
