For those who didn't know, Steam released a feature called Remote Play Together that allows you to connect to a friends PC and play local multiplayer games through Steam. I think Beam would be a great candidate for this feature to allow some of us losers without real life friends to try out the multi-seat feature. Sure, you could use Team Viewer or Nvidia's Remote Play but they aren't made to have the latency for gameplay or aren't supported anymore.

In the 0.18.0 update they made a few improvements to multiseat:
    • Improved multiseat assignment system: input devices can now be individually assigned to any vehicle (or no vehicle at all)
    • Added new multiseat-only binding to switch vehicles (assigned by default to d-up in XBox gamepad; will be displayed below Options > Gameplay > Enable Multiseat checkbox)
Controlling the wrong car was the one issue i had on the games end when i tried Nvidia's Play Together pre 0.18.0 so I would like to think that this was in preparation for Steam Remote Play Together but they wanted to polish it up a bit more before making it a thing.

Anyway I think this would be a good compromise for multiplayer since a "true" multiplayer seems years off, if at all possible, and i cant imagine it would be to much work on the devs part. Thanks for reading!

I have used this feature in multiple games already... it works basically exactly like Parsec if any of you have tried that out...

This feature, whatever Valve did to it, is actually INCREDIBLY good. Naturally the faster the hosts internet, and the faster their computer, the better, but damn if it doesn't do a great job. Most times I have tried this I have been streaming to 3 computers simultaneously with all three of them connected to me controlling the game with their own controllers and have felt minimal lag in both the video and input lag.

Naturally there will always be some lag... that and sometimes my internet kicks out (good ol' western PA internet) which leads to awful lag spikes, but there isn't much that can be done about that.

Anywho, point is that this should work rather well for anyone wanting to give it a try in multi seat mode. I haven't tried Beam yet, but considering how well it worked in other games, I see no reason why it wouldn't work for Beam also.
