Time to start a thread for mine and Nekkit's current project. We're working on a 1964-68 Porsche 911 HLS prototype. Only one of these cars was ever built and has recently been found in quite a state of disrepair. I am doing most of the modelling and likely most of the texturing whilst Nekkit will be doing most of the jbeam. Nekkit already has the frame of the car working in game with a (temporary) meshalpped engine to make it move. Suspension jbeam still needs to be tuned as you can see it's totally wonky if you watch the video carefully. Though still, it works. Nekkit's first suspension setup test: The funky texturing is only because the model isn't properly UV'd to the bolide's textures (again only temporary, this car is using bolide stuff as a base but will have everything properly modified so it isn't a shitty meshslap) As there isn't much information available on this car we're going with a Porsche 904 (same year) chassis and engine. The cars were both built at the same time so very highly likely have the same frame, suspension and engine. Variants have not been decided yet. The stock version of the car will be made first, then a barnfind version (some different flexbodies and textures).
This looks great. Will there be a lore friendly version? Anyway, good luck with this, consider me officially excited.
People ask this every single time someone makes a thread for a car mod. I believe the only mod to get a debadged repo version was Stoat Muldoon’s Coronet/Gladiator since the entire car was scratch made. From the looks of it, this will be too, so we’ll just have to see.
Yeah, i know its a common thing, as for the reason i (and many others) ask is because i prefer cars that have a lore friendly name, as it makes the game feel a bit more connected. As it looks now this is going to be good hopefully.
I know it's a dumb suggestion, but I'd love to see the chassis and stuff used to make a 904, since this is being based on one.
Oh right, I just understood the misunderstanding. I meant that you could (theoretically, i doubt it highly lol) create a 904 mod out of the curent chassis and stuff.
I'm assuming you guys are gonna use the Autobello engine model and the 904 powercurve so you dont have to model a whole new engine, right?
