Can't run the game on Windows 8.1

When i try to run the launcher on Windows 8.1 it tells my "This app can't run on your PC". Can anyone help me?

 

I've had no problems at all with Win 8.1. I have turned off the UAC and the Smart screen-thingie though, so your pc might try to stop you from running the program if it doesn't trust the developer or something. Try running the updater.exe in your installation folder, where the launcher is, that could fix the problem or try disabling the uac and smart screen.

It should give a different error for UAC, in fact that error is the error usually reserved for non valid win32 binaries for the platform your system is currently running on, for example trying to run a THUMB_2 win32 binary or a unix executable. Should never have to come across that error except on windows RT which can't run x86 programs. That error also comes up the certificate is missing for that program but the certificate test is only performed under windows RT so again shouldnt be relevant here. Looking at the icons on that guys desktop, we can safely say its not an RT tablet





I run the game on 8.1 fine. I would recommend downloading the new updater here: Updater-public-test
Make sure its unzipped first of course.

 

Hey guys now trying to run the updater but i haven't got my serial code and their is no .txt file in the BeamNG directory. Anyone know where to find it?

Well, unfortunately i don't have the order ID either so i need to find that first before using it to get my serial code.

You don't need an order ID, that should show the serial associated with your forum account on that page. If it does not then you need to contact support.

You won't have a serial.txt, that file is generated *by* the updater *after* you give it a serial. Its used for the updater to remember the serial code for next time.
