the mystery car has a gap between the hood and what appears to be the front fascia. the 240Z in the image you posted does not have said gap.

Charmand was mentioned once outside the concept list:
Not sure about any other mentions of either brand. The way I see it, the concept list should be treated as just that, some old concepts. We know the names got thrown around, so in general it's fair game for speculation, certainly better than pulling random stuff out of a hat. I agree that the badge and panel gap aren't enough to make any real statements though; neither brand strikes me as the type to have a luxury sub-brand or unique badges to match the RR-uno card.

As for the possibility of a 0.18.1, I find it incredibly strange that the comp crawler was ready for SEMA 5 weeks before the update but not in the update, and shown off both in the 0.18.0 devblog and again today in the development media section. A 0.18.1 with the comp Hopper (and maybe more attention to the D-Series*) is a strong possibility IMO.

*That wouldn't be much time for a part 2, but maybe some smaller stuff. The shorty seems to have been thrown in last minute since it is WIP without much content. A smaller update could at least give it the basics like a full interior and a roof. I know I am heavily biased because I really want it, but the large number of chrome parts and the 1980's style "Lifted" config really makes me think we will see a pre-facelift version someday. All it requires is a fascia, mirrors, bumpers, and detuned engine, so that's also fair for a quicker release.

Not sure if I entirely believe this idea myself but since “Phase One” is referring to the D-Series overhaul, phases 2 and 3 might be the Roamer and H-Series. Yes they got the frame updates but both are lacking in configs still (mainly the H-Series). Both the Roamer and H-Series are still missing all the race and drag configs that the D-Series (and Grand Marshal) got. The H-Series is still missing quite a few body styles including extended, passenger, sliding/side door variants, as well as upfits such as bus and RV upfits. The Roamer isn’t missing too much other than the drag/race variants but it could use an extended and short 2 door body style.

Yes, it's ridiculous that we've had a full-size body-on-frame all this time and all we have is a panel van with rear windows and a cab. No side doors, no extended body/frame, no side windows, no windowless rear doors, no passenger van stuff (carpet, seats, etc.), no school bus or shuttle upfits, no gaudy 90's non-commercial van trim or molded plastic running boards, no alternate fascias (I'm thinking chrome and body colored like the pickup, and maybe even a modern, composite-headlight & huge-grille fascia, considering that the last generations of both the E-Series and Express lasted about twenty years with basically only major front facelifts), not even any two-tone skins (and surprisingly, no two-tone skin mods). All of this is possible, considering we have plenty of different frame lengths, and AR126b's fantastic mod added a lot of these things before being broken a few updates ago (some parts didn't match the remodeled body from 0.16 that I think got re-remodeled in 0.18, and the left rear wheel got stuck in the wheel well) and obviously hopelessly broken now.

Also, ditto on different body options for the Roamer. Just look at the Chevy Tahoe. It got a two-door version, four-door version, and even an extended wheelbase version in the form of the Suburban. As I previously mentioned, there are plenty of frame length options, so this needs to happen.

No. I think they just thought it was funny.

Roamer has a drag version. IB4 angry beamers. But in reality I agree with this and everything you said about the H-series. The Roamer while lacking a bit is not nearly as bad as the H-series.

Probably not, the D-Series SWB doesn't even have configs (or a canopy) yet, you need to select the short frame in the parts selector to use it

I'm most excited for H-Series's revamp since it's lacking in configs and parts aswell. Also, i'm gonna bet that the new car will be an Lotus look-alike.

I don't think the new vehicle will be modern. The font on the badge looks too old to be modern, and it could be a Datsun 240Z type car, like @combatwombat96 pointed out.

the devs can take inspiration a certain car and make it into what ever they want it to be, they aren't restricted when it comes to vehicle design as actual car manufacturers are, so meaning just because it has a smaller space between the hood and grille than other real cars does not automatically mean that it is a modern car. They can make a car however they want and not have to conform to all normality's of other cars of a certain time when it come to styling, the new car could be something from early seventies however it could take some modest styling cues from Mitsubishi Magna because it wouldn't look out of place or odd. So it could be "based" of 240Z but they could make their own styling quirks and oddities and really just make it into their own car that is unlike anything any one has ever seen before (now im just repeating my self) because they can do it their way

I disagree. Well, obviously they are video game designers and can do whatever the hell they want, but that doesn't mean they should. It seems like a major injustice to put so much into a realistic physics model and just say "let's ignore realism" for the vehicles. What's the point of having a realistic handling model if all of the cars are GTA-esq mashups of random things. If I wanted to drive a car in a video game and didn't care about it being realistic, I would play NFS, not BeamNG. Yes the cars in Beam are fictional, but they are generally realistic. Take the Bluebuck for example, that fits perfectly among most of the early 60's American fullsized cars even though it's fictional. That car is it's own thing while also being reminiscent of the history, culture, and engineering behind those cars. That's how the BeamNG vehicles ideally should be in my opinion, unique while retaining what I love about cars. Those styling and engineering tendencies and legal limitations lend to the idiosyncrasies that make car classes unique.

that's not what I meant, of course keep it within reason when designing a car, I meant small little things like size and shape of a hood or whether the grille is eggcrate or horizontal bars or like how in that picture of the new car the hood doesn't meet the grille, those sort of things, not like making weird kiddie world (GTA 5) car and calling this or that just because they can

I'm gonna say the new car is an electric hyper car, or a V8 super car. The logo appears to be pretty unique and aggressive looking, along with those small panel gaps.

240z gnose? That doesn’t have said gap, and we are missing a 60’s/70’s sports car.

    It's got a curve in the panel gap therefore it's a 240Z /s
How abouts we wait and see what pops up in Dev screens before we start yelling at each other on what it is.
