Hi :). After quite some time i finally upgraded my old computer. It had an AMD CPU FX8350 and a Radeon R7 260x. I got around 25-30 fps in modern maps (Italy, upgraded East Coast). Now i upgraded to an AMD Ryzen 3600X and a Nvidia GTX 1660 Super. The problem is, i still get more or less the same perfomance, a little gain in FPS, while in other games, such as Assetto Corsa i get around 160-200fps in any map, while before it was 40 fps at maximum, to put an example. Well, I've been doing some test with Beam.
These tests are perfomed in the upgraded East Coast:
First with the Lowest Graphics possible (selected Lowest in the config)
I get around 60 FPS (which i consider really low with my hardware and such crappy graphics)
    20191206142358_1.jpg
But, if i get on the first person camera, i get 188 o_O
    20191206142348_1.jpg
And if I pause the game, in the first person camera the FPS stays the same, and on the thirth person camera i get almost 200fps
    20191206142408_1.jpg
Now with the Highest graphics settings, i get around 35-40 fps on the thirth person view:
    20191206142450_1.jpg
And again more FPS on the first person view (around 60)
    20191206142454_1.jpg
I also noticed that the shadows from the trees appear on the distance but when you get close to them they dissapear:
    20191206142511_1.jpg
    20191206142513_1.jpg
Those framerates sometimes drop a bit more, to 27fps, so it's really annoying and frustrating, because i love this game and i cant enjoy it :(

Any help would be appreciated :), thank you

Oh, new weirdest thing I have seen with this game :)

If you start game in safe mode, do you get same results?

When you have orbit camera active and you press shift-C to get to free camera, does that increase your fps? Probably not, but worth a test.

It can be seen that your GPU is working very hard for some reason, much harder than one would think for such low fps.

Do you have Hardware accelerated user interface enabled? Try with that enabled and disabled and see if it makes any difference.

Do you have Windows 10 game mode enabled? Recommendation is to disable it as it can cause some issues.

Have you tested different gpu driver versions?

Also if you go to documents\Beamng.drive\ there should be cache folder, you should be able to empty all contents of it without that causing issue and see if it is changing performance. Disappearing shadows could indicate issue with cache or GPU drivers, but it would be odd if there is issues with only this game with GPU drivers.

Also do you have any kind of reshade installed? I think sometime there has been issue with some of those.

Clean reinstall is last resort of course.

Hi, sorry for the late response, i've been busy. I just discovered the new 0.18 version with all the improvements, but looks like i still experience the same problems, so i'm going to try everything you told me anyway.
First of all, i tried with safe mode. Nothing, the game goes even worse (i guess it has to do with the update)
    30 FPS
    20191209191900_1.jpg
And again pausing the game raises the FPS
    20191209191903_1.jpg
But now the FPS keep around the same in first person.

    Free cam doesnt improve FPS

Hardware Acceleration is now off by default in-game (it was on before)

I dont know where that option is, but i'm using W10

I didn't, i'm using the drivers Nvidia had two weeks ago when i mounted the computer, i will check if there is any avaliable to try

And about the dissapearing shadows, is something i also experienced once in my old computer; anyway seems to be gone with the update

Options > User Interface and enable 'Advanced Features'.
In the sidebar you should now see a 'Performance' button.

Use that, let it fill and send a screenshot please.
It will better tell what's happening with your system.

You should also post your graphics settings by the way.

I tried with two vehicles if that helps in something:
    20191209194510_1.jpg 20191209194739_1.jpg
And the graphics config is the default one that the game sets:
    20191209194803_1.jpg
I also noticed that sometimes when you clic outside the game (on my second screen) the FPS raises to almost 70, but when you clic back in the game it lowers again to 30

The grey bar in the top graph (the CPU one) usually indicate when other stuff outside of the game is occupying the CPU.
You have constant big grey bars appearing. Your issue is more likely being caused by something outside the game. Also due the fact that the issue has been staying no matter of the game updates.

Is any of your components overclocked?
If so, you should also try to revert them.
Also disable any 'Game Optimizer' or similar software you might have.

Yeah, i have the CPU up to 4GHz, and the ram at 3200MHz, that's it. I will try to restore default settings if that helps
    --- Post updated ---
Well, I'm really glad to say that resetting the Motherboard to default settings made the game to perform really good
Thanks you for the help :):)

Hey, I only just saw this feed, but I wouldn't recommend overclocking it again if you have turned it back down, you don't want to cause damage to your components, as you say, your performance is back again, I was surprised to see 30fps for a 1660S - Specially when my 1050ti clocks 50-60 on Med-High Graphics - What frames are you getting now, since i'm looking at upgrading my PC soon, and a 1660(ti)S is an option for me or an RTX2060

Well, the funny thing is that the computer in auto mode does a higher OC than i had. Anyway, im experiencing again some random drops to 40 fps, and back to 70 and again. I dont know what's wrong, but i'm tired for now so i will leave it for later. And again the only game that does it

Check your thermal paste on your cpu, I think it may have thermal throttled from your overclock, since BeamNG is CPU intensive, and if you do have a cpu that is badly throttled & heat damaged, it is going to need replacing.

The computer is two weeks old, and it doesnt have any high temperatures. That's not the problem, i have the same temperatures as in any other games. This is just weird, i open the perfomance table and i get +20 fps, close it and again i loose them o_O
